and jack McLean who is a striker

McLean is a winger mate but has been played through the middle for Ringmer. Looked quite quick last night in a training match and took a goal well too. I didn't really pay much attention to the game as I was busy so can't comment on the other two players.

I hear that JJ is back in the UK at the end of the month - could add some much needed experience to the squad for the last 5 games !

Spoke to JJ earlier in the week and he is indeed back, be interesting to see if he would return however I think his return will be very close to the transfer window deadline.

Surely JJ is unregistered in the UK so the does the "transfer deadline" apply ?

If he has been playing abroad, he will need international clearance

It's deadline day to sign any players not just transfers.

JJ has been playing College Football in the States - I am told international clearance is NOT required.

If he wanted to play for us and a deal is agreed what stops us from registering him as a player now in advance to beat any deadline? If Roys right and IC is not required then he should be free to register with any UK team at any point?

Would def take him back for last few games!

I think the obstacle of The Atlantic Ocean would stop that Dan seeing as he has to sign a registration form.

Surely it can be scanned and emailed mate? If the FA dont allow that then they truly are behind the times! lol

Just checked the form and does have a option to be emailed so can't see any reason why it couldn't be done like that? The witness can be in the States for example scanned and emailed to the club and then the club sec can just sign here then email it to the League?

does he want to play and is he fit, after his efforts last season in that short spell you have to have doubts.

All registrations can be emailed but then you have 3 days I believe it is to get the original forms into the league.
JJ was nominated In the U.S. XI for college players so I'd expect him to be fit, I'm not sure if he'd be interested in playing or not. Purely all speculation.

I have previously been a registration secretary of a club at a lower level to Hastings United and got involved in a couple of international clearances. I cannot confirm any of the above with regard to players from the USA but when speaking to The FA (as it all goes through administration in London) I understood it to be anyone over the age of 10 that has previously played competitive football abroad. (This can include Wales and Scotland and includes park football !!). Hopefully the club have phoned the FA to clarify what paperwork is needed as it can take up to 28 days to get clearance. My tip (having fell foul of it) is to phone someone at the FA, get their verbal agreement that clearance is not required, then email them direct so that they reply and you have something. As I understand it the league can register the player but he cannot play until the club provides the league with the clearance from the FA. This can take up to 28 days although my experience was that the ones I completed (Turkey and South Africa) took about half that time. Perhaps it will be faster in the Ryman League!!!

Maybe he's for the U21's.... Hopefully

That list only shows transfers from other Ryman clubs too maybe this 'striker' is without a club or from a conf south side.... Or county league!!!

I see that Cray have signed Carl Rook from Leatherhead and they are 2nd bottom of Ryman North !! We could have done with signing him.

Very quiet, obviously the Westfield manager is still not returning those callsbiggrin but seriously, has the club ever been open or vocal about the news it gives to the supporters? probably too afraid to announce any signings in case they decide to leave before they play. Nigel stated in the Observer that he would only be making one more signing but I am guessing and hoping that may have changed after Saturday's sending off and injuries.

Thanks hastingsbuoy, been thinking of ways to improve this week. Perhaps a page 3 with our own topless supporters. Thinking Barry West or Rob French for the first issue. We could also have a Dear Deidre type agony column where supporters write in with their concerns about the club lead by local Psychologists Dave Rimmer and Chris b and perhaps a keep fit column with special tips from Pat. A feature on fashion from Liam Willis and Matt Deness and finally a Dr Christian type page with any supporters health issues. This could be written by Dr sicknote himself, Dan Willett. Early stages at the moment but I think these could be useful additions. What do you think?

Bert can do the 'Euro Trash' section, dodgy signings such as those French guys Maggs brought in that time :)

Looked a quality player last year but seems to have declined fast this season, still would have snapped your hand off though, he is a forward!

We will see how far he has declined next Monday. Agree with you though Dan, would have loved to have seen him at Hastings.

Do we actually know for sure whether Patterson was the centre forward NK was after, even though he appears to be a left back/midfielder or has the potential striker not yet been mentioned Or signed? I'm still a little confused.

So we will see some new old faces in the squad for today but - can't understand why we didn't succeed in getting a striker. Will see how this end.

I can understand Bert. As has been said a hundred times NK has no connections and why let Kenny Pogue go 6 weeks ago and never replace? It is his fault and no one else. Interesting that Redhill, Ramsgate and East Grinstead have all signed new strikers themselves in the last few weeks and not had the same problems.

that is why i don't understand John, Nigel has failed imo in that but is there no-one else in HU who has contacts ( or money )??

You can't depend everything on one person and that seems to be the case with NK.
