Longer standing Hastings United Supporters will be saddened to learn of the death of George Taylor last Friday at the age of 87. George had been diagnosed with Alzheimers some 3 years ago.
George will be remembered as having played for Hastings United in the 1950s, but more recently visited the Pilot Field as part of his 80th birthday celebrations where he was joined by George and Wayne Pea****, Bill Farnfield, Alan Burgess and Mickey Crowe.
Despite living in Scotland, George and his family continued to follow the fortunes of the club, to which he made such a memorable contribution
Good wishes are conveyed especially to Alan Sutton and Tony Demarco. The funeral is on 17th February
Sorry to hear the news about George Taylor. One of the great United players in the 50s. I know Alan will be especially saddened as George was his favourite player.
