I have decided that I cannot be doing with the pettiness and hipocrasy of certain members on here anymore and the focus has moved so far away from the football into pointless tit for tat insults that I have no interest in continuing as spoils my match day experience at games so am quitting this forum with immediate effect and handing over the admin role to Liam. My choice entirely before anyone suggests otherwise.

i may create a new account at some point if conditions on here improve and it will be under my old name

Due to activeboards limitations the initial admin account has to be changed taken over by the new account so you will see the 'Dan' account replaced with 'MrLiamWillis1' in due course and all current posts will look like they came from Liam but will leave him to decide what he wants to do with them going onwards.

Dan.

And now this is Liam writing - I have now deleted my old account and the only one to appear in my name will be this one.

So Liam does that mean in a previous life you were called Dan?

No trying to understand why you changed your user id, which seems pointless.

Because, if you actually took in any of the first post, you may have realised that Dan has quit the forum and I have taken his place as Admin. The only way for me to do things was to take over his account, hence the name change. Is this easier for you to understand or would you like a lengthy and detailed explanation?

The '(Previously Dan)' part of my username is only temporary for now anyway.

this forum has become embarassing and chris b go on about the club is look on badly cos of the way it run and chairman but read on here and i think if other supporter look at it they must think hastings supporters are a bunch of idiots. it worse than school playground, total embarassment cant we stick to football?
the chairman said he not sell club at that forum so why go on and on. i think that club must do like in community stuff, schools and coaching kids football is there still youth section cos never see anything in programme with news. but going on about who owns club have got so boring

Well said Peter. In regards to the youth bits and bobs going in the programme, in our last programme there was both a section on the U21s and the youth team. We try to put this in as regularly as possible, but with numerous postponement and the playing not being as regular as the first team, sometimes this is difficult.

I used to do match reports for the U16's and U18's when my son played for them and then did them for the reserves as he moved through the squads. It's unfortunate that we don't have any parents who are willing to take up the role and carry on that role. I used to enjoy doing them.

Yes we do Peter, from U7 right through to U18's I believe. I know that Razor coaches one of them. I know that Razor and some players used to coach in local primary schools too as he would often ask my lad to go and do some coaching at Churchwood school. I think it's something we should do and will make some enquiries as to whether that's still a thing we do.

We've also had some teachers play for us in the last too Peter. Most recently and currently Ade Olorunda, who teaches at William Parker. Whilst I was attending the school, he frequently spoke about it. As did Jimmy Elford when he played. Russell Eldridge is also a teacher and in his Hastings Utd days, he taught at what was Filsham Valley. Our Josh Pelling we have now is also a trainee PE teacher.

I think our partnership with William Parker is also looking at young talent, so there are lots of hastings teams out there.

I appreciate Dan's hard work and fortitude; and like Steve, I welcome Liam taking on something which I certainly wouldn't want to do. I value this forum; I think those who take the time and trouble to run it deserve every support. I think that a great deal of the content of the forum actually reflects well upon ourselves and the club. There is a high volume of posting, demonstrable enthusiasm and commitment and a wide range of views. Many clubs much bigger than ours have nothing to compare. I think it inevitable that some topics will 'drift' from the original posting; but so long as relevance to the club and to football in general is maintained, I see nothing in principle amiss in that - indeed, it is all part of having a dynamic debate. If anyone feels that 'their' topic has mutated into something else they can always start a new thread bringing matters back to an aspect of the original point.

We must keep strong views robustly expressed on the forum in order to make it worthwhile. But - and, sadly it's a 'but' which keeps re-surfacing - even when we might feel that someone has misrepresented or willfully misconceived what we have said - we must avoid tit for tat point scoring comments and above all comments that can be read (even when that is not the intention) as personally hurtful.

Like Geoff i thank Dan for doing not a easy task and wish Liam all the best.
Can agree with Geoff that often a forum represent the club in a way. It stays important that every opinion can be
written down on this place. Of course with all the respect for those who put it on here, read it and reply it.
Love reading this forum and especially all the different views . But always keep the rules in mind.

Hi guys  I would just like to post  please do not take that I am having a dig or a moan at any body because I am not.

I would like to say that rather than second guess and assume or even go and talk to the wrong people (which a lot of people on here do) with regards to HASTINGS UNITED YOUTH SECTION please feel free  to either ring or email(or if you know who they are talk to them at a game) the Youth section Chairperson or youth section Secretary with any questions you may have because rather than people post on here and talk a load of trash you will get straight answers from them with regards  to the issues raised ie. going into schools and who  the managers are  etc etc etc. I for one am a little sick of false information being given out by people who think they know but actually have not got a clue! Just in case you are wondering who I am  I am the Youth section secretary. So I actually know!
