Tom Vickers has supposedly left and joined Horsham along with Trevor McCreadie. Let's forget about all the turmoil during this crazy season, this is the same Tom Vickers who has been out injured for 8 months. The same Tom Vickers that the club stood by during this difficult period. The same Tom Vickers that the club paid for a private consultation to help him get a quick operation and return much quicker. The same Tom Vickers that was put back into the team, almost too quickly despite being unfit and overweight, that's what the club thought of him. Unless I hear otherwise, good riddance to him. Great talent but we don't need players like that at the moment.
Sad to see Tom leave. I guess he feels he needs a change. I would be glad to see him back in a Hastings shirt as he is one of the most talented players we've had for a long time.
But if he needs a change Steve why not see out the season and show the same loyalty the club has shown him. Could understand if it was Folkestone but Horsham? I'm just so gutted about this. Perhaps there is some other reason he has left that we are not aware off but doesn't make it any easier to hear. Did he leave on his own accord or did Horsham put in a 7 day letter?
always thought tom was good player but since injury has never has got fitness back and not think he made impact like he can. he had time to get fit but still he is like lot of our player that walks on the pitch and not run so technical loss but maybe good an unfit player going and could find it hard at team strugglng more than us
Jeez ! Don't believe this.
Agree Tom hasn't been as sharp as last season but I felt he was improving all the time and one of our best players in recent games.
Horsham ! Why ?
Looks like they are making a real bid to escape.
Meanwhile, we really can't afford to go backwards on playing strength at the moment.
I'm surprised at Tom going, but my capacity for surprise, like I imagine that of most of us, has been much eroded by the events of this season. I just hope he left without acrimony on either side and that a return for next season would be an option. As others have said, we need to strengthen the squad now; but it would appear that Nigel is doing just that.
Can't blame him...but, Horsham? Like John said, I could understand if it was up the league. Just goes to show that money means more than pride. Shame really.
He got injured ages ago and stuck out with us all the way throughout his injury. That's commitment and he has the potential to be an excellent players. Really is a shame.
