Some of you may know that I am liaising with an organisation called The BestOf, which predominantly, is a website to showcase local businesses. Recently, they have set up a Hastings branch and I am taking charge of the Hastings United part, in the hope to increase crowds and generate more income for the Club. A contract is about to be signed for this.
I have had to write a feature for this site and organise a banner for 'BestOf' to have at the ground, which you may notice on the far side on Saturday afternoon.
However, to go with my feature, I need some reviews from some of you lovely lovely people! The review should be somewhere around 75-150 words, explaining the positive things about the Club and why people should come! If you can post them in this thread, or email them to me at Liam.willis27@yahoo.co.uk, that would be amazing!
Your reviews will be published and I will place a link to these in this thread. I will also need your name and email address for these, but this will NOT be published. Your name will be shown, but only in the format of 'Liam W', so not your full name.
I first walked into the Pilot Field in 1968 and I still get the same feeling of excitement when I go now. All the history, the ups and downs, the hallowed turf trodden by some truly great footballers, the hard-working volunteers and wit of the supporters....it's all there. The team forever striving to improve, visiting teams wondering how many they are going to lose by....great entertainment at a truly reasonable cost. Ah...the memories, the optimism...the future is bright. I'm proud of my town and proud of my team. But please...don't just take my word for it. Come and experience the joy, the pain and the sense of achievement when things go well....it's without doubt, TheBestOf...
First of all being a big football fan for more than 40 years I also am a true England ‘’ lover ‘’. We are going quite often on holiday to the South of England and then I met Hastings United….. Following the club some years now and my first visit to The Pilot Field I shall never forget. The ground, the stand, the pitch and not at the least the kindly supporters and volunteers make a big impact. All football stands for came together here. I really hope I can come to watch a game as often as possible. And also to meet some true friends again I have made. The warm welcome my wife and I received when we were last time over….. The BestofHastings is not only a football club, it is a feeling deep inside.
Come on your U’ssssssssss!
A Dutch supporter
I moved to Hastings in 1987 and have followed Town/United ever since. I love non league football and Hastings has provided me with many moments of elation and despair in equal measure. It is a club with a long tradition but is very welcoming to new supporters and I have made many firm friends in my time supporting the club. The best of Hastings sums up the dedication of supporters and volunteers who make this club what it is and why I am proud to be counted among their number.
