After the goalless draw away to Whyteleafe we have another away match against
The aims of the Club are to promote fair play and sportsmanship, to play competitive football at the highest level possible whilst remaining strictly amateur and retaining the ideals of the Corinthian and the Casuals Football Clubs.
They are now on place 11 in the table, played 16 games and got 24 points. Goal difference 26-28
Played 8 home games and got 13 points, from their last 7 games ( including Cups ) they lost 5 and drew 2. Top scorer is Byatt
They play at :King George's Field
And we ? After 4 games under Dom Di Paola ( with 2 games won, one lost and one draw ) we will now face another test. Seems that the team is progressing and that must be a win against a team that is struggling.U's boss Dom Di Paola gave first starts to newcomers Archibald,Farmer and Shelly, and Hunt and Boswell came on as substitutes. So the team is transforming quite a lot and only 6 players ( Pelling,Rose,Ray,Adams,Hassan and Ade Olorunda ) where there at the start of the season.
So hopefully a lot of supporters will travel to Tolworth in Surrey !
Adam Hunt Charlie Farmer Joe Shelley Darren Boswell
Strange to see the first reply on this topic is from me again.
0-1 Lost, reading on Twitter is was a different game from Saturday's one and i think that was meant not in a positive way.
Possibly because we are all speechless and didn't get home until half eleven. Very poor last night. Must have had 70% of possession in the first half with two chances to show for it. Then the passing broke down and allowed our hosts a brief opportunity which they took. Second half we were all over the place and didn't threaten at all. (Apart from a hopeful cross that hit the post). Couple of players concerned me last night as they struggled at this level. Dom has a lot to do and its early days but dear Lord that was awful!
Wasn't there but from what you say Pat and what Barry said, iit looks like more emphasis needs to be put on creating chances it is easy to defend against if you pass pass pass 40 metres and further from goal. You might break county league sides down later in the game as they tire but in this league it doesn't always happen, a slight change in tactics may be required.
Pats right, very early days but the lack of goals continues to haunt this club. Corinthian were on a terrible run of 7 games without a win and 17 goals conceded in 5 but still barely a chance made.
Does anyone know why Ade is not playing midweek games? it cannot be because of school work because its half term. its just Bailo Camara all over again and it cannot help the team. Kenny's match time has also dried up for some reason and what about poor Ronnie Dolan. My MOM against Guernsey and was also impressive in the win at East Grinstead but not off the bench since then, is he injured?. I just hope we are not making too many changes too quickly, because for me, Ronnie was one of the few players who could hold his head up high this season.
I think you are right Chris. - it's pleasing to see us passing it about and keeping possession but there was absolutely no connection with the strikers at all. Corinthian were nothing special and should have been there for the taking - especially in the opening quarter of an hour when we looked pretty lively. Rome wasn't built in a day and this may take a bit longer but I still think that Dom can turn this round. Performances like Whytleafe on Saturday show we have what it takes but we must start winning in the final third.
Ade is on holiday John.

After using up flexi time at work and see that our train connection was delayed the last thing I needed to to watch was that game last night. A poor performance.
I am trying not to be too negative but one or two things need to be said. We seem to have adopted the Gentleman's Hairdressers style of play last night (SHORT BACK (Passes) and SIDES (Passes) at one stage in the first half we counted 20 passes and still had not got out of our own half! Sure enough after that we lost possession and that is how it was all game.
We offered very little up front apart from a good shot on goal in the first half and a cross in the second ha;f that somehow dared to go near their goal and hit the post. Apart from that after 15 mins the players did not seem up for it. I know they arrived late but that cannot be used as an excuse.
It was very hard work to watch for the supporters who made the journey to support the team at a ground that is not easy to get to by any way of travel.
No game Saturday but lots of work to do with Faversham up next.
not at game last night but surprise also that Dolan not featuring as he been decent this season. from saturday and other games we pass better but passing better dont win games and no goals for 3 games now which as usual is where our problem is. ade on holiday! like john says could be new bailo not show much commitment we really do need to get strikers that can do a job feel sorry for supporters that went last night long way on tuesday and sounded gloomy from twitter and what pat and barry say. still dom will need time and may have to decide if the players he know and brought to club can do job in this league.
Ade is a teacher so has to take any holidays with family etc at half terms. This is Ryman South not the Premier League and part time players have bigger priorities often other than football. Just a fact at this level of the game. Not like he gets paid whilst missing the game or anything. My mrs is a teacher so have a lot of sympathy for them though!
Didn't go but didn't sound great. Dom has a big job to do but not one that will happen overnight. We needed a big injection of players and we got one, assimilating them together and creating a effective style of play is much harder. Sounds like it was almost Tiki Taka-esque last night and possession without penetration is not good but still to go from a very direct game to that so quickly is going to take fine tuning.
As Pat says Rome wasn't built in a day, and without a doubt we are playing better football now than 5 weeks ago however as it's been said we need to create more chances. I'm sure if Ade was available we would of seen that however Dan is right, Ade is away and a similar situation for my Mrs working in a school, you are limited to holidays at half term etc. It wasn't great watching last night mainly from efforts at goal but Dom knows that he has to take stock on whether the players he has aare up to the task in this league, for me Keehan is the stand out of those, and Shelley showed what he is capable on Saturday although didn't make much of an impact last night. Give it a few more games I am certain this will be turned around soon.
I'm not going to go down the poor teachers route here and will stick to the footy! Tiki Taka ?? Well a bit at first certainly and it looked good. When it broke down though and the passes became more disjointed, it didn't look so good. At one point we did about 30 passes to get the ball from keeper to halfway and then all the way back to the keeper! It should have worn Corinthian out but after a while they just sat and waited for a pass to go astray and got themselves into the game that way.
There is a lot to sort out and in all honesty we are already light years away from where we were 4 games ago. It's very difficult to get a team that historically cannot pass a ball to the level of pass completion that we saw Saturday and at the start last night. Massive credit to them all for that but we must build and make those passes count and progress into the final third. That's the bit that needs work on now . We need to score goals . Don't forget we actually scored 7 in two games just three weeks ago so it's not impossible to fix.
I'm with you Dan on the sympathy, must be tough on those poor old teachers having 13 weeks holiday a year
Any news on Razor's injury? how long is he out for?
Also see Dave Cook on the bench for Hythe last night.
PE teachers are prob a bit different but doing 3 hours unpaid work a night 5 days a week and half a sunday aint my cup of tea mate no matter how many weeks you get off tbh! lol
Who was the out and out striker yesterday? Archibald or Boswell?
Well I went last night and I thought that we were absolutely rubbish! I wish I had never gone what with the nightmare Journey up there and then trying to find the ground.
Marc Pullan looks good very solid at the back and Kevin Keehan and Sam Adams were my Joint MOM players last night as they never stopped playing, and kept trying to drive the team forward. but the rest of them didn't seem up for it.
The first 25 minutes we passed the ball around and kept possession like we have been doing and I thought it is only a matter of time before we score because CC didn't look that good, But as soon as they scored we seemed to go to pieces.
The second half was even worse and when we found out that our passing game wasn't working we reverted to long balls up front and also kept giving the ball away, and couldn't seem to penetrate their defence.
In fact in the second half CC looked the more likely to score again than us as we had no penetration at all.
Evan Archibald seemed to be isolated up front with Darren Boswell down the right (who kept losing possession and giving the ball away) and where Taser was playing in the second half was anyone's guess.
It seems as though the EP brigade have taken Presidence over players like Ronnie Dolan,Tim Olorunda,Kenny Pogue and Sam Cruttwell, where the latter 3 all came on in the second half, when surely it should be the other way round with new players coming on as substitute for the existing players to see how they can fit in and/or improve things.
Four and a Half hours now without scoring, so we need to turn things around quickly as the play off's seem to be getting further and further away.
no sympathy for teachers, what if we had a team with more teachers, do we then not get a side out. i want to see hastings win and if players not comited like bailo last year then get players that are. player get paid to play then they should be available
Disappointing run of results and performances perhaps inevitable with all the changes. A good challenge for Dom and his numerous assistants. As for teachers it's obvious our holidays aren't long enough and I reckon we should finish work at 1 o'clock.
If Ronnie has gone then that is not only sad but also Dom's first mistake in my opinion. Ronnie was dreadful last season but lets remember, he decided to come back this year and prove to all what a decent player he was. He more than proved that in my opinion and was one of our better players this season, and for me has only been getting better. Be really disappointed if indeed he has left but I guess Dom knows what he's doing?
Tim, you already finish early on a Wednesday and close at the sign of a single snow flake
I think there is a bit of truth in this. The newcomers have to prove they are better then the old ones. The '' danger '' is for me that players like Cruttwell,Tim,Dolan, Kenny , who imo were always 100% committed to HUFC, don't want to be second choice. So i can imagine Bandits concern
Looks like Ronnie Dolan has gone according to his twitter, doesn't say where ( if anywhere yet ) As John said one of our best players this season, shame. Good luck to him.
Re Tuesday Corinthian Casuals I think working all day a long journey to the pitch,no time to warm up properly, had a lot to do with the result last night,I went to the Whyteleafe match ,and it was the most entertaining match I had seen for a while.I think Dom needs time to settle in.
And we will certainly be giving him loads of time, in fact the whole season, but still disturbing to see one of your best players this season leaving, especially when you put his efforts and performances up against the likes of Richard Rose.
Newbie - i remember Staines Town in the FA Cup. A whole league above us and we rocked up 30 minutes before kick off. We went out there and gave them a lesson in football. I think it is sometimes easy to make excuses. I too enjoyed Saturday and am really impressed how many improvements have been made already. Everyone is agreeing on the fact that there is improvement and I'm sure that everyone like me has full confidence in Dom. Its just impossible to come on here after working all day, followed by a rubbish journey to then witness what we saw and not mince your words. We are all aware that Dom needs time as weve all seen exactly what he has to fix!
Sorry things didn't work out for Ronnie Dolan-he might end up back at Hythe with Dave Cook. John-I like the idea of an early finish on Wednesday for teachers and you surely can't expect teachers to get cold on the way to work.
