Just seen an article in the Hastings Observer about the American Football team. Nathan Russell is credited with a touch down, can it be the same Nathsn who played for us?

That's our Nathan bless him! Not sure what all the fuss is about this American football team. Probably because I don't understand the rules at all!

I've heard rumours that Lee Carey has signed for them.

The guyt who set them up is Chris who used to do the HUFCTV thing for a short while here, has done well to get them set up and set up so quickly but like you Pat i don't understand the rules at all despite living in the States for a few years!

I understand the rules but still think it's rugby for chickens. Too much stop start for me.

Only game that lasts an hour but takes about three hours to play! Sorry not my cup of tea and struggle to see why people sit up till around 5am watching the Super Bowl. 😴

I bought a rulebook when Channel 4 first started showing it in the early 80's. I find the rules simpler than Rugby Union. I played it a bit when I was a kid too but it was never going to replace football for me. Its an alright game in itself but I rarely watch it these days unless I have a financial interest.

Association football remains, despite attempts to make it a non contact sport the world's greatest game. You could probably go further and argue that it is a global art form and one of the hallmarks of civilised culture that separates us from the beasts, but it probably wouldnt be a good idea to use today's match as an example if you were pursuing that line.
