What do we reckon for this season then? Personally, I think we have a stronger side than last season so am confident of making the play offs!

I think we probably have one of the strangers front line in the league, those that remember Ade when he was with us previously will know how prolific he can be, so I just hope he can find the form this season, because I think that him and Frankie could be deadly up front.

I also think our defence is exceptional, must stronger than last season. Seeing Razor back is something that I find exciting, and I think Jahmahl King will be an excellent addition to the squad, Richard Rose

Think the absence of Bailo and also Woodley seems to me a pity. We don't have that amount of strikers in the squad !

I think this is the guy we have, there is another Jordan Johnson but hes a welsh striker and don't think it was him!

Matt is at Uni in Chichester so would find it very hard to make U21 games if he was signed to play for them giving a they play midweek.

They've got that Dominic Heaume or whatever his name is who looked really good, and that Ryan Zico Black (something like that). They're the other other two who stood out for me. I know that Heaume scored against Chipstead on Saturday.

Do your preparation young Lewis. Get your questions pre arranged and throw a few in that are relevant to the game.

I have a few standard ones that I'll use for each interview, just word them in a different way. Then I'll throw in game relevant ones, but each question has to flow from the previous answer!

I think, as almost all do from other forum comments, that Dom's appointment is a bold and imaginative one; and that he stands an excellent chance of creating the long term success which has eluded us for so many years. I don't expect though an instant march up the table. Clearly Dom has firstly to take stock of the current squad. I'm sure he'll do that without preconceptions. He and we might find that some players who have been disappointing thus far this season will improve with different coaching and a new managerial approach. Others might not and will need to be replaced.

I think it a difficult, though not utterly impossible, task for us to get to the play-offs this season. I think an achievable immediate target would be to be no more than 12 points adrift from the last play-off spot at the turn of the year. That would at least give us something to go for in the second half of the season. What I do hope though is to see us (however slowly) going forward in terms of performance.

I was at Burgess Hill yesterday and saw them play against Sittingbourne. The league leaders won 1-0, but was stood out for me was the pace and the desire for the Hillians to win and have the ball. For the whole ninety minutes, they chased every single loose ball and make Sittingbourne look second best. Hill hit the crossbar four times, and in one case, twice in ten seconds. It should've been about 3 or 4 nil, but once again, that's football. Burgess Hill looked like a unit and very fit, but what made me chuckle, is that Burgess Hill sung at the Sittingbourne fans "Is this the first time you've seen a crowd?", despite them having an attendance of 464, which, to be fair, is over 100 above their average for this season...

I am assuming Nigel or some representative of the club was there last night watching Saturday's opponents? I know Dom used to watch a lot of football during the week, I assume managers still do this even at Ryman level? Keeping in mind they had their first 11 out last night I am sure we would have learnt a lot for Saturday's game. Am I making too many assumptions here?

The only bit of good news is that Redhill conceded in the last minute to deny them a win.
Let's hope our goal difference doesn't get a battering tonight.
Now that is seriously pessimistic when you say things like that !

We've been hearing about 'must win' games since about November. Horsham is a 'must win, must win' game I suppose. No doubt the manager has a cunning plan, as we may well be occupying a relegation spot by then.

Let's not forget that we were unlucky to get a point against Burgess Hill and it took a goal ironically in the same minute as they scored last night for them to take all the points. We know we have performances in us but we've got to take these good opportunities that we're creating, there's an eliminate of luck in all game I honestly believe we haven't had much good luck at all this season.

Not sure you can put 2 wins in last fourteen down to bad luck. Sure, there's bound to be the odd bit of that, but it appears we haven't been good enough, fit enough or well organised, and on occasions, not committed enough. Was it Lee Trevino who said 'the harder I work, the luckier I get'. I'm afraid you reap what you sow, as they say.

Yes, I agree that Horsham have been poor for the majority of this season, but we were lucky to get the three points of them last time. I think it was Evan's first goal for us in the last few minutes of the game. We go from that, to, like Lenny said, being unlucky not to get a point from Burgess Hill and the likes of Merstham.

It's the lack of consistency that's killing us, but, like Guernsey, their consistency has been poor, but they've still picked up more points than us. My example of them being they lost 8-0 to Merstham and then beat Three Bridges 8-1, all within a month.

But agree, can't really see where the points are going to come from, and that we haven't had much luck this season. There hasn't been many occasions where we have played against ten men, or we've even had a penalty, but then again, I'm not sure if I want penalties any more, missing the last two. But maybe ats just me being pedantic, but have to agree that we haven't had much luck this season.

agree with luck and what overhill say about harder you work the lucky you get. that applys to player manager and club and at mo we wont get much luck. dont think we should write horsham off as they have x hastings player and sure they will come back to get one over on us

According to Horsham forum Vickers out of the Hastings game. Is he suspended perhaps? Lewis Hamilton, probably their best defender is also suspended. Disagree with some of our supporters, this will be a really tough game and the front two for Horsham are a real danger.

What a thoroughly depressing season this has been!

We now head into what in my opinion is the most important couple of months in the clubs recent history. I am not exaggerating when I say if we drop out of this league we face ruin as a football club – the drop down from Ryman football to county football is massive and they are tricky leagues to get out of.

To look at the season as a whole it’s quite interesting:

P. W. D. L. F. A. GD. Pts. Ave Pts
Terry. 11. 3. 3. 5. 13. 18. -5. 12. 1.09
Dom. 13. 4. 4. 5. 22. 16. 6. 16. 1.23
Nigel. 14. 2. 3. 9. 13. 23. -10. 9. 0.64

Under Terry based on his average points so far we would have ended up 18-19th in the table but I am still certain if he had stayed we would have picked up and been comfortably midtable. He had a strong squad and a big budget and the squad was underachieving but we created chances during that period and Sawyer and Ade would have started to take them – I think we would have had a far better season than we have had! The loss of players of the calibre of Sawyer and Cook when he left were big losses and Sawyer is the one player I think we’ve badly missed, a mobile goalscorer to take the strain off Ade.

Under Dom we would have finished 12-14th based on his average and our goals for and against are actually pretty decent. In fact if he had won one more game in his time (or the Ramsgate game called off last minute when they only had 8-9 players had been played!), he would have had playoff form. I feel so let down by Dom as I think he would have been good for us and leaving as he did was terrible for the club. I wish we knew the truth about what happened behind the scenes because there must be more to it? Some of his signings weren’t great but Evan, Logan, Brinkhurst, Keehan, Farmer were all good for us and Shelley seemed really good before he suddenly left. Sadly it didn’t work and he left us high and dry – a shame really!!

What concerns me is under Kane our record over the whole season would see us finish below even Horsham! The only two games we have won in that time were a rather fortunate win against Horsham and against a threadbare Ramsgate side who on the day were the worst team I’ve seen in Ryman this season. Our goal difference is awful and the squad is getting weaker by the week and he doesn’t seem to have the contacts to get us out of this mess – I fear we will only survive because 3 teams are even more hopeless than us!

Please Nigel prove me wrong and get us the wins we need! Lets all get behind the team and lets hope Horsham, Ramsgate, East Grinstead, Redhill, Walton etc keep losing!!!

Dj .... you missed a manager out there (john maggs). But the one that i believe has cost the club more than any is Dom, the reason for me thinking this is following his appointment his eagerness to bring in EP players meant reagularly benching 5-6 of our mainstay players at the time. when this became the norm for him to do our players were "let go", So for me, it was Dom that caused the void we are now struggling to fill,

Don't think John Maggs was manager this season?

I don't disagree that Dom leaving hasn't caused problems (a number of players left when he did) and any manager leaving mid season causes turmoil. I only think Dolan and Bankole left whilst he was manager though? King left the day of his first game.

whilst I am not looking to play a blame game (that wasn't the point of my post) I do feel disappointed in Dom as it was an exciting appointment for us and im lost as to why he quit.

Personally I still think Terry should have stayed, I still think he is the right man for us and I think we would have had a better season if he was manager .

I jut really hope the rushed appointment of Nigel doesn't backfire, I'm sure other candidates may of come forward to get us out of this mess.

It's too easy to blame Dom - we don't know why he left. He was always likely to bring his own players in. I think Terry was unlucky. And as for Nigel Kane, his appeared to be a rushed appointment when allegedly other perhaps more suitable candidates turned the job down. Is it true that others turned us down? Two wins in 14 is it?? Can't think of many managers that would survive that record. Come to that, I can't think of anybody else who would want to take on a failing team at a club facing the real possibility of a catastrophic drop into football obscurity.

Dj ... you are right, I stand corrected, (all the seasons seem to roll into one these days) Terry was caretaker manager prior to maggs Appointment last season !! Oop's.....

I think we need to be realistic when we say Horsham might be an easy game. The way are results and performances are going I think we will find it hard to beat any team in this league and possibly many County League sides as well.We certainly need to take all our goal scoring chances and hope for some good luck.

Win for East Grinstead tonight. looking really grim at the bottom now. An unlikely win for Ramsgate tomorrow and we are in the bottom 3.
