Hi.

Faversham fan here.

Please look on http://allthingslilywhite.wordpress.com/2014/03/29/faversham-town-vs-hastings-united-match-preview-2/ for my match preview on Monday's clash.

Its a shame we have slipped up in recent games, because if we hadn't, this could have been a real crunch match, potentially having a big say on who reaches the play-offs.

Still, provided our players aren't completed exhausted (this is game no.3 in a five day period), still could be a good game.

Apologies if there are any mistakes and/or grammatical errors.

There isn't a great deal of time between now and this match, so probably won't get the chance to check this over.

Look forward to seeing some of your fans on Monday.

FAV Army!

Remember the game at Faversham well. Well beaten on the day, although thought your keeper should have gone for a shocking tackle on Kenny Pogue. Studs in the chest but I think Kenny got booked for retaliation. I hope your completely knackered because we are struggling to get 11 fit players on the pitch. Absolute must win for Hastings.

I felt we were fortunate to get a point tonight. We were missing key players and had few (actually I think no) clear cut chances throughout the game. As the second half progressed, Faversham were more dominant and much the better side and we have Josh Pelling to thank for some great saves and a clean sheet. He deserved MoM.

That was Josh Pellings best game of a already brilliant season for him.

Nailed on Player of the year by the sound of it!

Very worrying. Why on earth has Bryce Masters been brought in. He can at best be described as an average county level player that struggled to play well in a poor county league team, or does his name tell us all we need to know.

I was hoping we could see the season out and have a freshen up at the end of the season, but I now have to raise the question I have been asking myself for a while. Are we currently a team of players being managed by a manager or are we just a group of lads all out for a jolly together?

The best managers are able to be 'one of the lads' whilst still maintaining the fear, respect and authority of being The Manager. I don't think we have that at the moment and it shows week in and week out.

Although the team didn't play well i thought they gave 100%. Missing Some key players did not help. MOTM by far Josh. !

To be honest I thought generally we made fewer hopeful but wayward passes today than on Saturday. But what was most worrying was that I don't think we REALLY troubled their keeper once today while ours was MotM by a mile. Certainly the final whistle came as a great relief because our luck was bound to run out eventually. Actually thought Faversham were one of the best sides we have seen this season and only lacked a cutting edge to give them a win.....meanwhile we looked like we could have been out there all night.
In fairness, the team that finished today were probably complete strangers to each other so hanging on for a point maybe was as much as we could hope for. That said, I quite enjoyed the game in a masochistic sort of way.

Good support tonight though despite the lack of something to cheer. Welcome return of pat with the drum .

Agree with Mick - that full time whistle was a relief! Though Faversham were a good side, and had it not been for the superb Pelling, who certainly has my POTY vote now, they would have got a deserved winner. They played a high line, although the leakiest of defences could have played till tomorrow morning and kept a clean sheet in honesty!

Hopeful we can sneak a play off place, but it will be down to others slipping up.

I bet Maggs has a smirk on his face, sacked for not being top, and now we're set to be outside the play off places. 4 big away games ahead . . .

Yep much more noise and support in the Cole Warren second half than shooting the other way round in previous matches, shame it didn't help the team tonight though :(

Whilst Iohn gets his pasting table out - I thought too that our passing was better than Saturday but in spite of great efforts we didn't cause any damage at the final push. Agree about Pelling. Two of those many saves were world class.

My pasting tables out and I'm papering over the cracks, you f*****s.

Not one shot on target in 90 minutes, and just two off target although I cannot remember either of them. No service whatsoever to the front guys, did Trevor touch the ball last night? a midfield dominated by the opposition, and again no visable leader on the pitch but do you know what! I thought we did okay considering the side we had out. Ben Judge, who has been poor since Xmas, was back to something like his best last night and JJ had his best, albeit last game, since returning. Charlie was ok at left back and certainly no worse than what we have had this season and Sammy Adams looks like a proper right back and I would certainly look at him cementing that position next season. Midfield did struggle most of the night and too much to expect two promising youngsters in Matt and Tom to dominate opposition midfields. Danny still looks a shadow of what he was and Taser showed some nice glimpses again but needs to beat the first defender more often on his crosses and perhaps needs a goal to boost his confidence. I honestly think a good pre season and he will be a major asset next season. I think last night showed how much we miss Tom Vickers and Frankie Sawyer. Tom is possibly our only player who can take on and beat defenders consistently and Frankie's movement up front was sorely missed. Was also pleasantly surprised by the sub Ferguson. Showed some decent touches and a bit of pace as well. And finally Josh Pelling...is there a better keeper in the league? I've not seen one. He was magnificent last night and my only worry is that someone from a higher league may come in and take him. If that happens then it is fully deserved because he has been magnificent this season and would not be at all surprised if he receives 100% of the votes for player of the season.

So on to Three Bridges for another must win. Does anyone know whether any of the injured players will be back? I hear JJ is off, so if Timmy is unfit what options do we have along side Ben? What happens if Ben gets injured? We are so short of defenders it is frightening. Sadly, I still think we may come up a bit short this season but lets see.

I know literally nothing about Bryce Masters but it sounds like he's a specialist full back and considering the recent travails we've had in those positions at least he can cover that position? Hopefully he can cover CB too because as John rightly says if Ben picks up an injury we're in deep poo poo.

We can't keep playing midfielders there like Sam Cruttwell, Sam Adams and Charlie B although thought Sam A did overlap pretty well with Taser on the right at times IMO.

One of the better 0-0s I've seen.

Just one yellow card, which shows the game was played in the right spirit.

Faversham lacked a cutting edge slightly (our top scorer was on the bench for 75 minutes after playing Thursday,Saturday).

That said, your keeper was obviously brilliant, otherwise we could have scored a couple.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

For what it's worth, I can see you scrapping the play-offs but not convinced about you actually winning them.

P.s. I assume there were some late changes to your team. No.14 (Bryce Masters I think) came on, even though, no.14 was actually blank on the board that supplied the team sheets?

Agree with JW especially regarding Sam at right back. My biggest concern was the late use of substitutes. I know we have an injury crisis but we won't get the best out of players if we don't give them enough time on the pitch.

Can't add to Johns post really I thought that Nathan Ferguson looked a tricky player to get the ball off of and will be an asset at driving at defences, he's about to sign a pro contract at Dagenham and Redbridge but on loan with us till the end of the season.

Charlie is a better defender than a midfield player I've seen him in a lot of games and IMO he's a bit lazy for midfield, Bryce was at Brighton with my lad when they were younger although I've not seen a lot of him since then for me I'd go with Andy. I would think Sam Cruttwell is being developed as a full back, it often happens at clubs it happened with my lad at Millwall, he was a solid centre half and they moved him to right back which worked well.

Josh has been superb this season and is really a great asset to us, we were having the discussion last night that he's capable of playing at a much higher level however it's probably his height that will stop him catching the eye of a pro club. With the exception of Liam O'Brien  I think he's probably the best keeper we've had in a long time.

Thanks FAV army. We were lucky your top scorer was on the bench too!

Think you'll be a strong side next season, will certainly be up there challenging.
