Next Saturday we play againstthecurrent nr 17 in the table Walton & Hersham.
The club have just appointed former player Tony Reid as their new manager. Reid, who has had experience managing Eastbourne Town this season, has in charge since their last 2 ( winning !) games .
So who is gonna support the lads to the 70 miles trip to Surrey to the Sports Ground.
They play for a average attendance of 110. Hope Hastings will be up for the task and bringing 3 points back to The Pilot Field

Played a team that had lost 7 home games in a row and we lost by 2 goals.I think that says it all.We are absolutely dire.Guernsey are now pulling away from us,so I guess 4th place will be our best finish,if we are lucky.Must now be looking over our shoulder at Burgess Hill, who really must fancy their chances of catching us.What on earth is going on?Who will want to come and watch this dross? With attendance already falling we may be playing in front of crowds under 200 at Pilot Field
I have missed all our games for the last 5 weeks while recovering from an operation. Judging from the results of those games (the win at Redhill apart) and forum comments, I haven't missed much. Do we still have a realistic hope of the play-offs?
Sean this is one of the reasons we are a joke, recycled goods are never as good as originals, you have seen more Utd games than most in recent times can you tell me what positives there were today, and what makes you think we are heading in the right direction, this is getting harder and harder to stomach as we have some well paid players who are just not coming up with the goods why? Please answer the question this time and not turn it into a dig at me.
I know there's still 14 games to go, but this away form is dire. Should the season pan out like it is now, I'd prefer to finish 5th than 4th behind Folkestone, and have a trip to Leatherhead instead of Guernsey. Roll on Monday and another unconvincing narrow 2-1 home win . . .
Nothing positive to report from the match yesterday unfortunately, in the main there was a lack of urgency, desire and willingness to track back & put a shift in. Not everyone but a lot of people. Management seem fully aware of the issue and can only hope it will be corrected ASAP. Felt like one of the worst away performances I've seen tbh and that includes all those 4-0 thumpings last season Mostly due to the poor opposition ( albeit good enough to beat us )
Apart from that a nice day out in lovely weather at a beautiful part of the county, with a nice ( £5! ) prematch beer in the sun by the yachts on the Thames for about half dozen of us. Best part of the day!
Ground was nice if a bit basic with a running track all the way round and a boarded up stand.cent enough clubhouse but pitch was worst all season by a long way.
Hastings United suffered their third defeat in four matches with a 2-0 loss at Walton & Hersham this afternoon (Saturday).
Both goals came in the second half as United experienced back-to-back Ryman Football League Division One South reverses for the second time this season, slipping to fifth in the process.
New United signing Taser Hassan went straight into the starting line-up and the visitors had the ball in the net inside three minutes. Frankie Sawyer’s header was disallowed, though, as Danny Ellis was deemed to have run the ball out of play before crossing.
Andre Scarlett fired well over for Walton and Ellis did the same for United. In between times, home full-back Louis Clark made a timely tackle on Sawyer as the striker sought to latch onto Ben Judge’s ball through the middle.
Sawyer had a dipping 20-yard volley acrobatically stopped by Walton goalkeeper Dan Coles and Sam Adams drove just wide from 25 yards. Sawyer was well off target with probably the best chance of the first half after being picked out by Tom Vickers.
Into the second period and United fell behind in the 55th minute. Poor defending allowed Andrew Mensah to evade several half-hearted tackles before driving low past Josh Pelling in the away goal.
United also contributed to their own downfall with the second goal. Mensah hit the post from six yards when unmarked at a corner, but slammed home the rebound to put his team firmly on course for a third straight victory.
U’s substitute Kenny Pogue volleyed narrowly wide, while in added time, Trevor McCreadie couldn’t hit the target having been teed up by Sawyer at the end of a counter-attack and Hassan curled a free kick against the far post.
Clueless, Pathetic, Too many changes - contributing to their own downfall, dire .... sounds very familiar to me as I was watching the same thing 264 miles away.
Very disappointed to hear what happend at Walton - didnt improve my journey home at all.

I'm away from home at the moment and couldn't be there, but from what I see being said by those that were there, the problem is more to do with attitude than ability.
I would always pick a player that may not be quite as able but will always give 100% over a player that is slightly more able but lacks commitment, every time.
Yes agree Hamilton, but if a manager can't get his team up for the game ultimately its his fault. Most clubs in our league would love to have our squad. However, there is a serious problem that needs to be addressed urgently.
Seems I have timed being stuck at work and missing a run of games perfectly. Some things that surely cannot help are players who have done well, worked their nuts off - not featuring. I wonder if this applies to Sean Kelly who's decision to take it all out on a punch bag (presumably) has resulted in a big loss to the squad. Perhaps we are bit too well off up front with the latest acquisition - though our pitiful goals for figure fails to reflect that - but I think Kenny Pogue has done well enough to feature from the start. I don't want to see him decide to take up another sport either!
We are still in a position to feature in the Lottery League of play offs - but lose a couple more and Faversham win a couple then a play off place might be a place too far given this awful run of late. Weird - in the middle of it all the lads put in their best performance of the season against Guernsey for 40 odd minutes. To think we were a couple of points adrift of them with four games in hand - we now can't catch them a matter of a month later. Even with three games in hand.
United need NEED to beat Chipstead on Monday evening.
Really poor performance yesterday, with nothing really positive to report. The only positive thing was the beer by the Thames beforehand! Must win game against Chipstead now, and surely, surely, we can score more than the norm at some point??
