Whats the chances of this game being on? Heavy rain (surprise surprise!) expected on Friday into early Saturday, so unless we get some good drying weather on Saturday morning, its looking doubtful.

I would be very surprised to see both this game and Mondays game against Hythe on.....Maybe some of that FA cup money should be spent on a 3G pitch just a thought?

I went to Maidstone and as I said at the time I would not want a 3G pitch ever. I spoke to a couple of our players and they didn't like it either.

Surely they would rather play on 3G than not at all? When floodlights were introduced for the first time in 1878 the players did like it but guess they are used to them now!!!!

A 3G pitch costs £350k to put down and lasts around 10 years and costs in the region of £250k to replace that's an extra £25k a year to fnd to replace it. Maidstone have been refused promotion to Confrence level because of their pitch so progression is limited. I'm not saying we're in the position for that yet but who knows what the future brings. I really think Simon would see hell freeze over before we ever see one of those at our ground.

Simon text me this morning he's optimistic that if the forecast is right the game will be on this Saturday however we may need a bit of help forking the pitch from around 11 am. Obviously I will put an appeal on here if neccassary but if you could spare some time it would be appreciated and if you could bring a fork that would be even better.

I would have thought Simon would love a 3G pitch...just sweep it twice a week and lots of time to get on with his day job!
