This is quite damming of DW as if anything can be said of Maggs it is he isn't known for slating people off.

Damming indeed Chris, lets hope others that know the unworkable situation at the whole club will now speak out so the supporters and the towns population can be made aware of the chairmans dictatorship.

We still also await the outcome of the Sussex FA charge against him for verbally abusing their representative at a recent Sussex Senior Cup tie.

Barry, I wonder what your source is for this alleged verbal abuse of the county Fa official and if indeed you were privy to this alleged outburst? If you were then please share it with us, I'm sure that we'd all like to know what was said and what the chairman has been charged with.
Throwing allegations about on a public forum without proof is a bold statement which could land people in hot water if the alleged was to take offence and peruse the matter further.
Once again if you have an issue with the chairman then instead of accusing him of this that and the other then talk to him. I know a few people have done so in the past, I've always found him approachable I'm sure he would be with you too.

If an experienced and well respected coach like John Maggs finds it impossible to work with DW then there really is a problem at the club. Good luck Terry.

I don't think its right for Barry to comment further on this site, perhaps Lenny if you ask DW what its about he may tell you.

Lenny the lion its all very well keep saying go and talk to Dave Walters but some people might not want to or will not feel at ease talking to him and also would he really give us any truthful and honest answers.

I am sure he wouldn't appreciate supporters going up to him at a match asking him some of the questions we all want answers to.

As you yourself seem to be so friendly with him why don't you put some of the concerns raised about him on this forum and get back to us with the answers.

I don't think its an unreasonable comment or question where has anyone been threatened? I'm willing to stand corrected but Obviously if you accuse someone of something then you could at least be more specific? I'm interested and I would presume others are too in what and how this alleged charge came about.

I will ask him about it when I see him next and see what he has to say.

Bandit as I said a few from here have approached him on issues and have told me what I've said that he's approachable. Certain people on here are very quick to accuse the chairman of this that and another but when it comes to talking to him face to face they won't do it! It's not being argumentative I'm only saying if you have a gripe deal with it don't beat around the bush.

Lenny, all these changes in management suggest the chairman is not any good at selecting managers or he is doing something wrong in his communication with these managers, he is doing something wrong, and you don't seem to accept this. He has alienated people, and people wont come to the ground because of him. Sadly he is not good for our club because of his attitude. I think the Maggs comments sum it up, you can see from this board we are not a club pulling together, fans divided, managers sacked on a regular basis, players looking for excuses not to turn up, errors in admin, (don't know whose fault that is). Its all so sad, but until we get a change at the top, i cant see a way forward.

bit ott Barry, cant see where you been threaten. you make allegation and it been questioned. have looked in paper and internet and can not see anything about this allegation you make and charge by sussex fa so how you know im to interested in what has happened.
but facts and to Maggs he come across very bitter in newspaper but facts tell a story that he was not good enough. very few signing to make squad better, less and less player in squad, not enough goals, performances get worse and worse and results getting worse to. no signs of him making a positive difference. players play out of position, team unbalnced. he says he not surprised he was sacked and me not surprised either cos he was not good enough. the article says he is well respected, so what its results and performance that count and he not delivering.
so politics or not i think the club is right to get rid and start again and think terry white and nigel kane will be a good team and good to see we have 3 good signing already in 1 week

Chris with all due respect that has nothing to do with my original post other than suggesting that people try speaking to the chairman. Wasn't it you who suggested a long time ago that Maggs wasn't up to the job? yet he gets sacked and now you're criticising him for an action you said should of happened a while back.

Don't get me wrong I got on well with John but how I got on with him didn't matter, how he got on with players however did and from chatting to a few of them all bar one has said they were pleased about him going and that came from them without being promted from me so maybe Johns comments aren't exactly the whole truth about having untold messages of support.

I don't deny he has alienated people, you can't get on with everyone in life and agree with all his decisions that's human nature.

Where have i said he shouldn't have gone? I have never said that, bur you don't or wont get my point, and that is he is hopeless at selecting managers, For whatever reason his selection criteria is faulty. And who would bet on TW being in charge come Jan 2015. Lenny you also said that DW and JM had a good relationship but that appears ncorrect as it doesn't appear to be a sudden breakdown.

If I were to ask somebody at the top end of the club the following questions, do you think I would get a straight answer? Or an answer featuring extraordinary obfuscation?

1. Why have so many managers been sacked, and yet those who appointed them remain in situ?

2. If a  serious offer came in to buy the football club, would Mr Walters be interested?

3. What plans does the directorship have to obtain/sustain top level non-league football in the town?

4. What did actually happen at  the alleged Senior Cup altercation?

5. What happened to the profit made from the FA Cup run? How has it been apportioned  generally, without £ specifics, obviously?

6. Apart from  players and staff, who else is in receipt of income, and who amongst the Board is working on an entirely voluntary basis?

7. Why did Mr Maggs allegedly say that he couldn't work for a chairman who supposedly  pursued him five months ago?

Answers on a postcard.........

 Bit sensitive?

All that's been pointed out is you can't go around making allegations or potentially libellous comments without backing it up.
You could potentially land yourself and others in trouble.

We have previously had myself ( as the admin running the site ) and others who had made comments threatened directly with real legal action from solicitors demanding details of the members due to potentially libellous comments made so I ask that everyone take it very seriously.

if anyone makes any accusations on here, then they must be aware they they alone are responsible for any legal action that may occur due to a potentially libellous comment. It is part of the conditions for using this forum and In the rules on the main page.

The forum is working great and all points of view are being allowed to be stated without fear of moderation or deletion BUT Please please do not slander or liable anyone on here and if you state something then please do it in full with the facts otherwise you will be leaving yourself open as has happened in the past.

This is in general and not just in relation to this thread.

For it to be libellous it needs to be incorrect

A lible action can still be brought without that being known Chris, it is very expensive to fight one so essentially the person fighting the action will lose financially anyway. ( trust me I have taken legal advice regarding this due to previous incidents on here )

the libel laws are being currently reviewed but are not changed as yet so just be carefull!

But surely if an action is bought against someone, by someone who knows it to be true, then he/she would be liable for all costs.

No, unfortunately it doesn't work like that at the moment. I wish it did. They could dispute definitions, the incident discussed might be a confidential one and shouldn't be revealed in public. There are many shades of grey in legal terms.

You can get someone else to confirm if you want.

It is absolutely right that if accusations are made, they are supported by evidence and every individual has the right not to be defamed by false and spurious accusations. I don't think that the club help themselves by appearing to be aloof and disinterested in the views of the supporters who, in the main, only crave for a bit of success. Given present circumstances, it's not at all surprising that emotions are running high amongst those who care, and the club should be prepared to receive some level of questionning regarding recent events. For a seasoned campaigner like John Maggs to be as openly critical as he has been, there must be something wrong somewhere, which needs to be sorted if the club is ever to progress. It's time for honesty and bravery in large chunks.

Having had a brief chat with the chairman I can confirm that there has been no charge by the county Fa over an alleged abuse of the county representative at the previous county cup game to last at all. I think that if he had been charged then he would be the first person to know.

if that is true and it is a story made up then i think Barry should say sorry. i also think that it would be good to have a fan forum and what we want to know can be asked so we have facts questions like in overthehill post and also ask question to terry white.

Interesting article in the non-league paper with John Maggs again being quite guarded and restrained in his comments. A shame he wasn't more open and specific in his interview. Strange what the club see as"Dirty washing......"8
