See a few of you half full brigade are starting to ask questions about selection, and direction of the team make up,  are some of you now realising things aren't going to improve with the current regime ? I for one thought last night was as bad as the 1st month of the season, yet we managed a win through a bit of magic football. If we get promotion it will be by default, unless things change rapidly.

Did you think you had sole rights to being the grumpy one on here then? Ha ha! Just before you get excited - I have not fallen out with anyone at the club either  as much as I'm sure you'd dine out on it. I give praise when I think it's due and criticise when I think necessary. No biggie. Pointless troublemaking ??

I think the lack of a truly great performance or more in half a season is what's is the main issue so far, there does seem to be a bit of a Groundhog Day effect to a lot if our performances this season as in the fact that we struggle to put teams away convincingly and can't get started early in the match often enough. If we had been able to have a couple more 4 goal or more hauls ( like a lot of clubs have ) then I think the picture wouldn't appear as it is.

Def need to sort some areas out still and whatever he's on we need to persuade Medlock to join to help out Kenny & Trevor ( when he's back ) he's versatile enough to play in different roles too.

My big gripe has been the quality and amount of signings coming in this season to a squad that clearly needs improvement. We have money to spend, we all know that, but seem totally incapable of getting in the right players and seem to spend just way too long filling troubled positions. How long have we been looking for a left back? Surely John and Terry have excellent contacts with their years of experience at non league football.

Last nights team included seven players who have flitted in between ourselves and Rye Utd over the past few years. Two or Three, maybe, but seven from county league! I don't believe you are going to get promoted from this league with that amount. Is it any surprise that our most consistent player over the past 2 seasons has been Ben Judge who has played at a higher level and come down. And may I add that we have been desperately fortunate that Ben has been injury free during this period. If he were to pick up an injury what a mess we would be in and where is our cover?

Our signings have been very poor indeed. I blame no one for Branco, as it was worth the punt and got everyone's juices flowing but apart from that, McCreadie, in his short stay, has been the only success. I do not agree in anyway with some people saying we should not spend money and a couple of seasons in this league will do us good. Rubbish!! We have one of the best sets of supporters in non league football and they deserve a better quality of football then has been on show over the past 2 seasons. Do we throw silly money at getting immediate promotion, no, but we have to be bringing in better players than we have this season. Our transfer dealings and loan signings have been poor at best.

It really isn't all doom and gloom and to get this squad to 3rd in the league, without playing well most of the season has to be commended but i just think we all expected and deserve a little bit more on the pitch.

the players we have put in great effort but im getting fed up with paying 10 quid to watch what most of the time is poor football. johnw goes on about signings and not sorting problem area out and that has been like that since start of season and still we have problem in same area. Maggs should have contact in game as he been in it long enough but we probably weeker now than when he came. it is almost like sabotage in Maggs not wanting us to be promoted. in programme last night it said that the team is the most expensive for ages and more so than when we were in Premier. so where all the money going? Is Maggs keeping it for him? If he cant get player in then he should go. on ryman news page all teams make signings to make there side better but we have nothing. not good enough and we are lucky we still in play off, last night sumed that up

Is Mr Maggs being given a free hand on signings or is he being restricted by the Ayatollah.

Also is the Ayatollah attempting to influence team selections and questioning all of Mr Maggs decisions?

Myself and plenty of others have heard rumours that all is not well between the two of them, seems we have been here before.

I think it was an attempt by Barry to be funny Peter suggesting that the chairman selects the team. Once again it's been discussed before and the same answer still remains its complete rubbish. I've said it before and I'll say it once again it's disrespectful to John with his wealth of experience to think that he'd allow that to happen. Knowing John for the short length of time I have, I believe he would tell the chairman what to do and probably leave.
If it's that much of a burning question Barry why don't you ask either one of them? I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you straight.

fair enough Chris. For me, the start of the season was exciting in that - whilst we were not playing particularly great, there seemed to be a lot of promise and there were some new players being touted about. Things are stale at the moment and my frustration is around the fact that as Dan says - it's ground hog day game after game and there seems to be little sign of the cavalry coming. I don't know about Bailo but heard that he was working. The positive is that we are third without going into overdrive but we will need strengthening to move from there. I stand by my support for Kenny - works his socks off and is scoring goals. There are lots of good players in the team that have the potential to change games but there are areas that we are weak. We all know where that is and it gets boring going on about it. We need two backs and another striker in my opinion if we want to push on.

On current form we might struggle to make the play-offs. It is surprising that well into the season we don't really look a well balanced team. Our midfield doesn't look right and we rarely threaten down the wing. None of our full backs look comfortable going forward and our lack of cohesion in midfield leads to a series of long balls up front. I think Sam and Tom are our 2 most creative midfield players-wouldn't it be possible to give them a run in the centre of midfield with Tim operating in front of the back 4? Is Tom playing wide on the left because it is his preferred position or is it because we haven't anyone else who can use his left foot? Herne Bay was a struggle but we did get stronger the longer the game went on and 3 points against Leatherhead at whatever ground the match is played would give our season a timely boost.

We have natural left footed, quick wide players in the U21s earning their stripes

It may well be frustrating to see the side not being quite the finished product and that goals for column says an awful lot - but just cast your minds back to pre season - how many of you then thought we would be 4th in the division with games in hand on everyone around us as we went into the New Year. You'd've all grabbed that with both hands,

Kenny continues to work his whatsits off and I have a lot of time for the bloke and that commitment - he never stops. Be a real shame if McCreadie is out a while because those two work well together. But Kenny will continue to plug away and is on course for at least 20 goals.

Would be so nice, though, to see that goals for tally improve.

Well done for the Herne Bay result - had to follow proceeding from work and on the way home - BIG sigh of relief when I saw that late one had gone in . And late turn again Saturday so I miss Leatherhead - if it goes ahead.

know we should,nt if only but cant help thinking if only we had Russell eldridge down the wing putting those crosses in, and jimmy elford at the back.on the subject of Kenny p just think where we would be without his goals this season, think the boy should get more credit and that's a turnabout to what I thought at the beginning of the season.

I can't disagree with your comments Simon and Dave, Kenny never gives up and his work rate is immense. Ok he gets caught offside a bit more than we'd like but I'm sure as Dave suggested he'll get 20 goals if not more. I think Henre bay may stop leaking goals now, purely based on the way they defended the other night, I reckon they put themselves in front of very good shots on about 7 or 8 times, if they hadn't of done so I'm sure we would of seen a few more goals.
Hopefully John will bring a new striker in soon and we will see our goal for increase. Still a long way to go and it's not over to the fat lady sings.

Agree with SS.  Remember the manager joined after the season had started, the usually judge a new manager when he has got HIS squad together which wouldn't be until next season.  It's obvious the team are with Maggs by the commitment they are giving.  Last season we would probably have lost that game on Monday.  I'll take another 20 1-0 results this season.

I have a feeling that a lot of teams come to the PF and play like its a cup final. I thought Herne Bay's defending was one of the best displays I've seen this season their back four were outstanding and put their bodies on the line several times. It looks as if we are seen as the team to beat this year.
Like Powels I would take 1-0 for the rest of the season and KP is a trier and several of us have commented on his improved ball control that he has added to bloody hard work. Just needs to watch the off sides a bit, although the lino in the first half seemed to have it in for Kenny after he queried one of his decisions.
Whats going on is we are 4th and look a good bet for the play offs but a bit of strength in depth for the squad wouldn't go amiss.

Agree with FatherXmas in that I have felt all season that teams have come to the PF and have maybe put in the little bit extra to get a result here.I think there are two factors here, those being the coverage we got from the F.A.Cup and the fact that we came down a division and are being used as a bench mark.Thankfully,we are overcoming most opposition at home, but you can see what it means to teams to come away from our place with a result.

Exactly just looked how Peacehaven reacted at the final whistle. Anyone would of thought they'd just beaten Harrogate in front of a 4000+ crowd live on tv.
