Is it true that the club intent to charge the full admission price for the Sussex Senior Cup game against Burgess Hill? If so it will be interesting to see how many turn up
I've not been told the entrance prices yet but then again I don't need to know until nearer the fixture. Hopefully there will be conformation on the website soon. In my opinion though if that is correct it will probably have an effect on the gate.
Remember that 'pay what you want ' game is for charity ! I pledged a pound a goal from the moment it was announced until the night of that game . With a minimum of £5.....just was well I said that with only two goals scored so far ...
There will be no Ben Judge not that he would of played anyway. Spoke to him on Saturday and his kneck is still bad but hopes to be back for the next league game. Knew he was important to the team but didn't quite realise how much until Saturday. Hopefully Andy Corrigan will get a run out though.
Hopefully now with maggs gone Andy will finally have his chance - may only be a pointless cup match but great opportunity for him to impress and really push for a first team game if selected for this game... Lets hope Terry has seen Andy's commitment when john didnt !
Could be the perfect solution for all. He wants 1st team football and we need someone with class to see us through, but I believe he's only around til April
I hoped that the change of management would inspire the team and everyone involved to '' set things right ''
Also to give Terry White positive signs that the team will give their best. And only 172 supporters where at The Pilot Field ?!
I don't think you are either Bert. We don't get big crowds for Senior cup matches on all honesty. As for the team - it's a bit early for miracles but it was good to see Corrigan and Sheldon get some game time.
At all levels of football, when a new manager is in place you get a player reaction and results pick up immediately for a period of time. For our standard of performance to drop even further is a worry. I don't blame Terry, poor blokes only had them 2 days, but it shows the lack of quality we have throughout the team if they can't lift themselves for the new mans first game in charge. Wholesale changes required.
I wasnt actually referring to the JJ news actually although it is also much needed! Will have to wait a few days for confirmation though.
When we had 2 midfielders still playing in defence and a right sided centre back playing at LB then you know the injurys are going to have a huge effect on the stability of the team.
Andy Corrigan hasn't played any game since beginning of Dec so understand him not starting however. By his own admission he's rusty.
Burgess hill have won 9/10 matches recently and the only match they lost was the match that we somehow came back to win 3-2 from 2-0 down so clearly a side bang in form and with that defence where always going to cause problems.
The prob is the squad just hasn't been strong enough especially in defence and with options up front. GK is fine, Midfield is solid so hopefully Terry will be able to address the issues quickly.
John, i don't believe you ALWAYS get a 'bounce' effect straight away.... In a very similar situation at Spurs, when a manager was replaced due to poor performances rather than league position Sherwood came in and lost his first match to West Ham in a very very poor performance ( in a Carling Cup match so once again no one cared! ) but look at them now!...
Not overly concerned with the loss of this game and sure that few of us would be that fussed about Sussex cup if the final wasn't at the AMEX.

I agree very much with Dan's comments. Yes, it doesn't matter in itself to go out of the County Cup and Burgess Hill were a strong combative side on a run of form. What we had out last night, however, was the strongest team we could field given the current injuries situation. The available squad without Ben and Trevor looked very thin. We were second best for most of the game and once again Josh kept us in it with some excellent keeping. Without his form it could have been much worse than 1-0 last night.
Our hope now is to sustain a run for a play off position. We cannot do that without new faces and, I suggest, a more combative, competitive approach from the team (the recent display by Herne Bay was an example of what can be done in that area!). Hopefully Terry will find both the necessary new and returning faces and the change of approach to achieve that.
