Chris Cumming-Bart leaving us to go to Eastbourne Town
Seems we have signed a player from Burgess Hill Kamran Glen.
As usual nothing on our website, supporters left in the dark as usual.
Kam Glen played in the U21s match on Thursday. Was a Youth player with Stoke City & Northampton Town. Also played in the Conference & Southern League Prem for Kettering.
I think he will be a good addition and future player, but I am biased cos he's family!
Speaking with John Maggs last weekend he told me that Kameran was being signed for the U21's which in all fairness players who sign for the youth squad and U21's aren't reported on the website so why would this signing be any different?
Sounds a wise move by John Maggs. Young players need to prove themselves at that level and if they do then its worth giving them a go at a 1st team level when the opportunity arises. If they don't prove themselves at the U21s level then they aren't capable of playing 1st team football.
It gives the club an opportunity to view potential players and also for those players to get used to the club. The U21s is an excellent platform for young players with the added bonus of allowing established 1st team players games when recovering from injury.
I think Barry is quite correct about the Under 21's. At times it looks as if we are quite happy to be winning the majority of our matches in the Ryman's South without every being serious about establishing a competitive team for the Ryman Premier.
Kamran can play on the left or right. He's a genuinely dual footed quick player. Prefers left/right mid and enjoys a run at fullbacks, however he was coached to also play as a wing back. He can play fullback but tends to be a very attacking fullback.
An U21/Reserve team is an essential element for any club with long term ambitions. It also allows good quality U18s to find their feet in adult football.
From The Eastbourne Hearald - Billy Medlock has revealed that he will be staying at Eastbourne Town until the end of the season at least.
Interest in Town’s top scorer has been rife after new manager John Lambert had revealed that Hastings United, along with two other unnamed clubs, had approached the young striker.
But Medlock, 21, today (Wednesday) put an end to any speculation.)
“Today I’ve decided to stay,” he said.
“A few clubs have come in for me in the last few weeks but from my point of view the reason they’ve approached me is because I’ve been doing well and I don’t want that to stop.”
Timber at the moment we are not a club with more potential we are showing nothing about future we get players we get rid of players and by the look of things not a lot of of previous players want to return so ask ourselves why is this .seems like the club itself has a bad name as far as previous players are concerned to me am I wrong.we all know players from the past so tell me different please.
disappointed with that but maybe to late to get Medlock with a Lambert now at Eastbourne. Think we should have try for Medlock 2 month ago. Sindy lots of players have come back to Club. Pogue Vickers Adams Darby Ellis T Olorunda Woodley all players in this season squad have all come back after being away. ok Medlock wont just maybe he not hungry enough and is happy as big fish in little sea. think Maggs need to look at players from a higher league to improve our squad but dont think he has ability to get anyone in by his transfer dealings so far as JohnW said in other thread
As Peter says and I have said previously, we just constantly leave things too late. We have needed an extra striker all season but dither and fanny around waiting for someone to pick up an injury before we make a move. Medlock was never going to come with Lambert just moving there. Poor in the transfer market yet again and lets hope now Leatherhead is off tomorrow. Maggs states in the observer that Henson, Gilbert and possibly Judge all unavailable tomorrow. No signings, no depth in squad, no back up, no defenders!

John, i think Maggs says also that :
“I’m continuing with another option with a forward because the Medlock thing broke down. I don’t know if it will be done in time for Saturday, but I feel very confident that the following Saturday we will have an addition in that area.”
Maggs is also in the market for a defender as United seek to bolster their Ryman Football League Division One South promotion bid.
“The search goes out for another defender which I’m working on,” continued Maggs. “Whether it’s in time for Saturday I don’t know, but hopefully next week we will see some movement. There was a defender who looked more or less certain to sign, but the manager has changed his mind as such.”
So indeed let's hope that a few new players will come quickly !
To be fair John a lot of clubs have gone in for Medlock and he's turned them all down so far, so I don't think Lambsy going in has made much of a difference. I do believe money may have been a stumbling block for some other clubs but I don't think it would of been an issue for us, just my thoughts and nothing I have been told .
Money certainly shouldn't have been an make or break issue with the obvious importance of the position needing to be filled especially with Trev's injury but also generally. Imagine it was simply the fact that he's perfectly happy where he is right now.
Hopefully there are some other available players who like Trev are maybe not currently top of a scorers list as he wasn't, but of the required standard or higher to score 10-15 league goals before the end of the season. ( although i am racking my brain to think of any )
It's not about money if you'd read my other post you would of known a lot of clubs have already tried to sign him but he's refused. Maybe it's because he's the first choice striker there and wants to remain in that position and it's something other clubs won't guarantee him?
There's a lot of reasons why money and footballing ambition might not be enough to make a move to a different town for a club, work / family / friends reasons etc.
At this level the hassle of even a short change in personal lifestyle just isn't worth the bother of a few extra quid or chance to go up 1 step in the part time non league football pyramid ( still in relative obscurity )
Full time work will always pay more except in very rare cases so we've gotta understand where he may be coming from and who he plays football for is unlikely to be the main concern.
I'm as gutted as anyone but we've got to understand that the universe doesn't revolve around Ryman South / Prem clubs :(

Me flock had only 4 games in total but was only 19 and a winger then on loan from E/Boro reserves, first team football has obviously made him a better player.
When you say Sean do you mean Ray? Not heard anything different regarding him at all recently?
from paper sounds if it is a struggle to get side out tomorrow. will be playing under 18! shocking that we are in a mess. might make team selection easy but having only a team and no squad is no good if want to get promotion. should have made signings weeks ago instead this trialist that trialist, where all the french players, where the player signed from burgess hill? it a mess and thought Maggs was a great manager when he joined but serious wooried now that we wont even make play off if he cant get player in. Leatherhead beat Walton Hersham 5 0 on Tuesday. we could see same tomorrow. hope its off to
I don't believe in transfers just for the sake of keeping the fans happy but we really need an injection of new personnel on the pitch and possibly even from the dugout because our early promise is fading fast.We need action quickly,as I fear time is running out
Chris - I'm Gutted about Mata - he would have looked great in a Leeds shirt. We could have paid him three bob a week and a annual subscription to the Yorkshire evening Post
he was only on loan i think i remember but did not think he was very good. Suarez though........... if only. wonder if Terry can persuade Medlock over?
Obviously my day to agree with Peter R ! Didn't think Elvis was very effective. Suarez was a class player. Still not sure about Medlock changing his mind. Hope he does but either way we need a couple at least in quickly to strengthen
