Hastings United will have to make a 40 miles journey to what maybe can be a very strange game. The home club The Anvils hope they will be up to the task after a very strange 3 months. After an unbeaten run of 5 games the downfall started on October 19th with defeats in the cup against Sudbury and a week later against Redhill. Then they played 11 League games and they won only one (!) and drew 2. The other 8 games they lost with a goaldif. of 6-39 (!) Shocking results against Folkestone ( 0-8 ) and Guernsey ( 0-11 ).
CDG has recently brought in some new players and a new management and the performance last week away against Hythe Town ( 1-1 ) was '' promising'' according their matchreport.
The Haven Centre
And Hastings ? After the unlucky defeat last Saturday against Peachehaven hopefully John Maggs's team will bring home 3 points and will stay in the top of the table.
John Maggs at Crawley ( May 2013 ) where he was responsible for first team affairs.

Is it right that Charlie Slocombe has now signed for Crawley? Thought he did really well whilst with us and a much better option than our current right back.

John : this is the CDG team what played against Hythe: Team:- Luke Badiali, Charlie Slocombe, Michael Daley, Luke Medley, Marcus Milner, Charlie Holness, Steve Sargent, Bokari Sinclair Smith, Allan Tait, Colin Harrison, Stefan Cox.
Any reason Barrie why the league will not let CDG call the match off today. I notice a number of other clubs have inspections today and one match in the north division has been called off already.
I'm pretty sure they'll allow them Dave, the only thing I can see is if the pitch is possibly playable and what with the fixture congestion they refuse permission but in all honesty it's got to be the sensible option.
Obviously the weather has been very bad recently but surely the league must take some responsibility as they continue to allow County league teams to be promoted to our level with grounds and pitches that are not up to it.
I think at present teams are allowed to be promoted but have a season to get their ground in order to make the grading. This is all wrong the teams should have their ground and pitch inspected when they apply for promtion and tell them any changes need to be done before the new season starts.
Too true Barry the fa seem to be weak in that aspect and favour some clubs knowing the grades are not up to the standard.could you imagine rye or Westfield giving backhanders .this is where grades should be enforced before any club stars the season in a higher league definately
Blimey !! All this fuss about pitches ..didn't hear Brian Clough moaning about the Baseball Ground in the 70's ....games off ! Accept it !!! That's what happens when you drop down a league ,but to be honest there have been a fair few matches right up to the Championship postponed this year already ....the weather has been a bit extreme !
And we haven't even had any snow yet ...the difference is this season that we are in the same boat as most clubs this time and not the only club playing catch up ....we just got to get on with it , just like the old days I guess !!!!
annoying with game off was looking forward to it after last week, and yes very good point by Dave68 should never be at this level. think we still be at this level next season to as can not see maggs being able to stengthen enough to get promotion. so another season at this level at village sides with poor grounds but agree weather has been very wet.
I thought it was the league who had the authority to extend the season. Maybe someone with better knowledge of the arcane rules of football can enlighten us.
I still think we can make the play offs at least. The season is only half way through and anything can happen.
