I'll go 3 - 1 but most of all I want a convincing performance that puts us head and shoulders above our opponents.
Gate ? 391

I think we will win 3-0 with a gate of 405. Don't care who scores but I fancy McReady to get a hat-trick.

Interesting to see some familiar faces in the Eastbourne side-Matt Hall did well for us during his short stay as did Ross Sutton. Greg Nessling played for Rye last week.

No question for me that Tom was MotM...he was outstanding today but McCreadie was also excellent. Both his goals came from being on the move and anticipating where he needed to be. I'm afraid Kenny doesn't have that instinct...he is reactive not proactive in the box... so he'll never be as effective as he could be.
First half Eastbourne looked pretty decent and more than held their own, second half they wilted and you could see why they are struggling this season. Thought the penalty was a bit soft and cleverly 'won' by Josh who made sure he was brought down by 'leaving his foot there'. What did others think ? Of course it proved to be the decisive moment in that we were always comfortable winners once we got the second.
Well, I was looking for a dominant performance today and got it second half....but a couple of bigger tests are coming up. Can we remain unbeaten in the next two ?

A few people seemed surprised when Tom was announced as mom. I had no argument. Thought he showed some class, nearly scored a screamer(or two), and if he can keep his head, and get off the woodley diet, he could be the signing that makes the difference.
Mccreadie looked sharp again, but I'd like to see "gingermac" against someone decent.
Kenny continues to prove the initial doubters wrong, me included.

I have to say I'm still on the fence. Fantastic effort as always, well taken penalty and a great assist for the 3rd but 4 or 5 gilt edge chances missed (may only get one vs Guernsey on Wednesday)and still getting caught offside way too much, but huge improvement on his early season form.

As for the game, very poor 1st half yet again but 2nd half completely dominated and should have won by 5 or 6. Super performance by McCreadie, who looked a real handfull but felt we missed Sam's set pieces today. Very poor free kicks and corners today. Another good win without playing at our best and now 2 massive away games coming up this week which will undoubtedly prove our title credentials.

Got the score right but Kenny nicked the penalty otherwise Kevin would have had a hat-trick ha-ha. Seriously, I enjoyed going top but felt we should have at least doubled our score. Agreed with Tom as MoM but others played well especially Kevin who I think will give any defence in this division a hard time and he is only 19, nice to see an old head, in football terms, on young shoulders. We are assembling a good squad looking forward to Guernsey on the net.

Not a totally convincing performance but some encouraging signs in the match. Excellent first goal for Hastings but the rest of the first half wasn't very good. Second half was better with both sides missing chances. Tom Vickers played well and surprised Lewes don't need him. Presume Sam was out of action-hope he is ok for Wednesday. Ironically, Ross Sutton at left back, had a very sound game for Eastbourne.

Our Mr Cosens has seen Eastbourne Town a few times this season and said that's the best he's seen them play. Trevor McCreadie and Kenny seem to have a natural understanding of each other's position, McCreadie seems to never stop running and I really like the way he follows up a shot and yes I know its something a striker should do but we don't do it enough.

He did give it a thump, I wasn't certain if he'd score giving his body language before he took it but certainly stuck it away well.

Looks like Dan had put a few down his neck too!

A very good second half today, as others have said. I would have given MotM to Trevor McCreadie - which is not to deny Tom's efforts. It's very good news for us that he is back. He has great potential.

Yes, sterner tests to come, but this was still a pretty good display today against a side that were by no means hopeless. One minor comment - I thought the officials let a lot of heavy challenges by Eastbourne go unpunished. Pretty good discipline on our part not to overeact.

You're welcome Bert ,,,it's great to be top without ,in my opinion , setting the world on fire . I think we need to grab all the positives at the moment .Tom Vickers will without doubt improve the midfield ,especially whats coming down the left and McCreadie does seem to be a good find upfront but time will tell against tougher opposition . I personally didnt rate Eastbourne at all .I havent seen all our matches but they were quite poor. Even Chipstead posed more of a threat !!!            Maggs seems to have installed a bit of discipline...hope that applies to off the field as well , in wake of the Worthing debacle with us flying to Guernsey this week ...the airlines will ,quite rightly , be looking for any trouble . Again time will tell with the discipline as it wasn't until after Xmas last season that we self imploded on that front .It didn't help with our survival that's for sure . Yeah all in all good stuff but still plenty of room for improvement .Would like to see us be a bit more clinical . But a great day yesterday and well worth my £25 that I spent up there !!!
