Hastings United will entertain neighbours Westfield in a Sussex Senior Cup second round derby tonight (Tuesday).United are riding high in Ryman Football League Division One South, while Westfield are in the bottom half of Sussex County Football League Division Two.Despite the two-division gap between the clubs, United are expected to field a strong squad for a match which will get underway from 7.45pm at The Pilot Field.United are unbeaten in their last eight league games, although they’ve been held to a draw in their last two and were beaten 4-2 away to Westfield in a pre-season friendly. Our pre-season friendly ( which game i saw ) ended 2-4 for Westfield on a warm day in July.

Not for me either pool and 2 crap teams in London on the screen for me. Had my footie fix last night at Under 21 game good performance although defence at fault for Burgess Hill winner and our keeper looked unconvincing. not sure who he is what happened to the other guy Burbidge ?
Thought I heard he's gone to Eastbourne United but I may be wrong. I'd be happy with the keeper that Westfield have as back up, he played against our 21's pre season and kept the score line to a reasonable score.
FT 3:0 win...well done and great result after recent 2 poor games...so good to be back to winning ways and keep a clean sheet....now more of the same on Saturday against Eastbourne Town please!
Decent enough watch, bit of a scrappy game at times with some appualing decisions from the ref, but I guess that the standards for this competition.
Kenny pogue played well, ran his socks off and scored with a decent finish, 2 in 2 for him now, but that still won't keep a certain someone happy!
McCreadie played really well, he was strong, good skills, able to beat players and got into a good position for his goal. Don't want to get too carried away as it was only against Westfield!
Mcreadie was a handful, ok up against a county two side who in all honesty never looked like they were going to score even if they were still out there now. I do think though he may well be a crucial signing, very strong had a bit of pace found space for a pass and I think he will get a few goals in this division.
Roll on Saturday.
Macready looks the part. Good movement, strong, decent skills and scored. Good to see Kenny score again. Only Westfield but you can only beat the opposition you are playing. Tom Vickers did a great job in left midfield, made us look more secure down that side. Great to have Tim back.
Kenny pogue mom. Scored one , made two. Liked what I saw of mccreadie. Most impressed with vickers self control. Got kicked, started to react, then thought about it and walked away.
good to get a few goals and clean sheet and sounds like mccreadie might be a useful signing along with vickers but surprised we only beat county league 2 side with 10 men 3-0 not that convincing but said by not being there so not best of judge. looking forward to saturday and seeing vickers back and mccreadie and hope for a convining win
It really was a game that we dominated throughout Peter and rightly so, if you look at the match stats on the official website you'll see that we had a total of twenty shots to their two. You could say that with that amount of attempts we should of scored more but defence was very good last night and if Pelling had more than 10 touches of the ball last night I reckon I'd be exaggerating. As I've said McCreadie looks a handful and with Kenny we could soon be putting teams to bed a lot quicker in games.
There's a section on the Ryman website under a tab on the fixtures section Dan but he's not on there, however not sure how up to date it is as Kenny isn't either yet he would come in mid table of the top goal scores in the league.
Crawley Down have scored nearly 40 goals in all competitions, so hardly the prolific goalscorer we all yearn. In fact Lee Carey scored more for them. Maggsy obviously knows him from his stint there so has obviously seen something that his figures do not reflect. Don't think we can learn much from a game against the mighty Westfield so hope he gets a start on Saturday to prove himself.
McCreadie is a 19 year-old striker for whom a promising career at Crawley Town was ended by injury but he has battled his way back to fitness with spells at Daventry Town, Eastbourne Town and Hailsham Town
Left at the end of the season to join Peacehaven. Was on the bench quite a bit and joined CDG at the end of September.
Promising striker who scored a few whilst he was with us.
Cheers Horman, obviously a John Maggs favorite then as assume it was him who signed McCreadie for Both Horsham and CDG.
Hopefully can partner up with Ken and take the pressure off him for goals, good to see them both score yesterday albeit against a 10 man Westfield side
