Just wondered how the pitch is coping with all this week's rain ? My lawn is waterlogged but I know the PF drains very well.

The forecast is for some rain later today, a bright morning tomorrow then LOTS of rain for the match.

Excellent footy watching weather !

It's looking very good this afternoon even if young Simon isn't really feeling in the mood for it today. First cut was being done this morning and hopefully will have another tomorrow morning with the tractor rather than the mower. Simon puts hours into the pitch as is well documented and we really are lucky to have such a conscientious groundsman as him.
I know that last season he narrowly missed out on the groundsman of the year award for the third year running but he still got highly commended. My opinion is if we hadn't of worked so hard in clearing the pitch from snow and the rain in two of the games late last season he would of won again, that certainly had an effect on the pitch and one which wasn't beneficial to it.

Check the official website and the clubs twitter feed for any updates. I can tell you however that the pitch was fine this morning.

Surely the pitch must be waterlogged with the amount of rain we have had?

Just been up there to try and help. Pitch under water, no chance despite the efforts of Simon, Barry and the crew.

Jeeez, must be bad. Postponements through waterlogging are hensteeth-esque! And I managed to get the train away from work in time! :*)

Simon,

It has been horrific here this morning. I guess we've had four hours solid rain with probably half an hour of it absolutely torrential.

Disappointing but certainly not surprising...lets hope Sittingbourne play on an energy sapping pitch at Ramsgate this afternoon.biggrinbiggrin

Thanks for your help anyway John. I really thought that we had a chance there for a minute but it just came down to much.

Hopefully the dry forecast tomorrow will dry it out.
