The scheduled date is the week beginning the 25/11, does this have priority over league games?

They have always taken priority over league games in the past but not sure how they can this time as i am sure many have made plans and paid for a trip over to Guernsey that week.

That happened with Folkestone with us, I don't think it will be a problem as if the plan is the same we will play the U21 squad.

With the club not having the best of relationship with the Sussex FA over the last few years it would not surprise me if they insisted the game to be played that week.

The club need to let those intending to travel to Guernsey know ASAP.

You'll find that most senior clubs at this level in Sussex play their reserve sides. Its a common thing.

I'm not saying that, but you can't make it an u21 fixture, it has to remain a 1st xi fixture, so we would have fixtures Monday and Weds. Hopefully SSC tie can be arranged for another week.

It was always the plan that the 21's would play in the early rounds of the Sussex cup, If the fixture goes ahead I'm sure that it will be made up by a vast majority of 21 and 18 players just like in the league cup.

It's easy to say that, but what if the previous game(s) are weathered off JM might decide the players need a game. So to say they will definitely be U21 / U18 players is a bit premature.

I can't see John risking senior players too much when we have a very important away trip to Guernsey just 2 days later.

I know it has been said that all the first team have committed to going to Guernsey but when the games comes some might not be able to go and we need to take some of the U21 and 18's. So it is a bit of a headache.

It is Barry and 3 games in 4 days, Eastbourne 23rd, Westfield 25th and Guernsey 27th will mean that will have to be the case. I know what game I think John will forsake for the good of the squad. It's common sense in my opinion.

It's not premature to be fair. If it is insisted that we play both games then we will naturally have to use the under 21 team as well. How that pans out will be another issue

It wont go down well if Guernsey has to be moved, will it. Hope SCFA are understanding.

Agree . But if they are not then we will have to put out two teams mixing U 21 and first team. Not the first time it has happened but slightly different as its Guernsey . If it was Worthing away for example we wouldn't be concerned. We have always used reserves for SSC so don't see a reason why not now

The game is allowed to be played either the week before or after the scheduled date so that will ease ChrisB's worries.

Senior Cup is a joke competition that is of no interest until maybe you get to the semi final - how that can take precedence over league games has always amazed me. I'm sure we had to go to Gresley Rovers - Derbyshire - for a Southern League Premier game, on a mid week evening, many years ago because we had to play a Senior Cup tie on the Saturday when we should've been at Gresley. I certainly hope the Westfield game doesn't cause the Guernsey one to be moved because I've taken the necessary time off work for the 27th and 28th.

The club are looking to either bring the game forward or move it to the week later as is allowed in the rules.

Suppose its quite possible that several U18's could play for the U21's thus freeing them to play the Sussex Cup game? also their will be some squad players from the firsts playing im sure between the three squads and triallists / New signings etc im sure it will work out

You have to remember that the U21's is there to support the 1sts and it tends to be fringe players and players requiring match fitness when they play for the 21's so I don't think it will be much of an issue.
