Today away to Den Haag; 1-1 and we played more then 1 hour with 10 men and went 1-0 up after 2 minutes and lost the points in the 88th.......... We did not win since February 2013............... In good and bad times you may say.....
What a weekend: Hastings winning 2-1 and my own old club NEC winning for the first time in 8 months and after 20 games......... you can imagine how it was in our stadium after the final whistle............. Winning against Heerenveen under manager Marco van Basten, our famous old national player
Iim reading a new book called the 'The Football Tourist' by Stuart Fuller who as well as being Lewes's Programme editor and media man runs 'the ball is round' blog and part of the 'European football weekends' blog crew and i can highly recommend it for anyone thinking of watching matches abroad between domestic clubs.
Does NEC have a big rivalry with anyone Bert and if so whens the next derby? after our Real Oviedo Vs Atletico Madrid ( B ) experience last year could be tempted to try another foreign match!

Didn't Berry Powell play for Den hag, Bert?
Yes, he played for them. Is now without a club i think. He trained with his old club The Graafschap but they hadn't the money
I converted to the Russian Orthodox Church a few years ago, and am currently learning Russian. Led to an interest in all things Russian, decided to choose a club and as I like Siberia (I like the cold!) decided on Tom Tomsk - Tomsk being the city, Tom being the river that gives it its name. Got promoted last season to the Russian Premier League.
Interesting club facts:
they went bankrupt two years ago, only managed to reform and pay off their debts when President Putin got involved and gave them a loan from one of his companies and ordered the government to guarantee 200 million Rubles of additional bank debt;
they have the best behaved fans in Russia. Last season the Russian FA fined them for setting off fireworks inside the ground to celebrate getting promoted, and the fans club organised collections and concerts to pay the fine for the club.
My other clubs are Millwall and Freiburg, btw. Anyone interested in talking about obscure foreign clubs, I'd be the one in a Hastings scarf and Millwall hat at home matches (so as not to be mistsken for a Hamster fan) with a five-year-old in tow!
Have a soft spot for FC Koln having watched them play with my wife's nephews who live in Germany in May. There is a massive fan base in Cologne and they desperately need to return to their top flight ..Also, have a brother in law in Toulouse so I keep an eye on their results and a son in Wales . So his nearest team is Carmarthern so keep an eye on them too ...they are doing alright this season ,3rd I think
