He was on trial with a Prem club, got some League 2 experience and has played in Europe, has also played at one level above us too up north previously and has got a goal a game ratio there.
About bloody time! time to drag out Pat's drum, a tambourine and a few whistles. And how about getting back the Hastings Hotshots dressed as Samba dancers? if not I'm sure Rimmer will double up
John that just made me laugh out loud - literally! I've been keeping everything crossed for this one all week but won't be happy until the deed is done and he has signed. What a quality addition he will be for sure
Read all the player profiles in the Premier but did not found the Samba man.........
But it is now on the official:
Friday, October 4, 2013
United boss John Maggs has unveiled the latest addition to his playing squad, confirming the signing of striker Rodrigo Branco from Conference National side Woking.
The twenty-two year old forward hails from Brazil, where he played his junior football for Sao Bernardo and Sao Paulo. He first arrived in the UK for an ultimately unsuccessful trial with Blackburn Rovers in 2010, and returned two years later to join then newly promoted League Two outfit Fleetwood Town.
Branco made just a single First Team appearance for the Lancashire side, although he did fire six goals in eight games in a loan spell with Lancaster City of the Northern Premier League. He joined Maltese Premier League team Floriana in January 2013, but was back in England for the start of the current campaign.

I haven't been on here for a little while now. Until about 2 years ago I had been a avid fan of United/Town/United for about 50 years( does that beat you Mick ). I just got so fed up of the constant chopping and changing of managers and going from wanting a local team to bringing in lots of players from outside of the area.
I have started coming to some games recently and have been impressed, and with getting John Maggs on board( shame it wasn't a few years ago) and now Cliff Cant, what an experienced team we have at this level of football.
So anyway back to my reply on this post. This player sounds far too good for this level of football, so I hope that if we do sign him we get him on a contract, because if he starts scoring lots of goals he won't be here by Christmas.
Oh well that brought us all down to earth when we were having fun! That said, let's see what he can do - you never know he may like Hastings - it will surely remind him of Cocobana Beach ....
Lets hope Branco doesn't earn the nickname Blanko. This could be the striker we've all been craving for . Can't think of any Brazilian titled requests so will have to go with Coco Cabanna ,Bazza Manilow please Pat
Rodrigo Branco ? Currently on trial at Woking and failed a trial at Blackburn when they were a premier club.
Has played for Fleetwood in League 2 and on loan to Lancaster City Who play in The northern premier league where he scored 6 goals !
Exciting stuff, eh?
I don't think anyone can complain that JM hasn't given the club the huge boost it needed after last season's disappointment.
Sorry I'll be missing the game today.
To the tune of La Paloma Blanco " oh Rodriguez Branco !!! Oh wont you give us a goal ? Oh Rodriguez Branco ! Oh wont you give us a goal ? Won't you give us a goal ? Won't you give us a goal ? ". Now ! Where's my coat too ?
Second chance for Branco and this one he tucks away to make it 3-1.
Camara with another wonderful through ball for Branco to round Pitman and roll the ball over the line in the 73rd minute,Branco so close to a second, as a lob drifts narrowly wide. Now a penalty for the visitors. Ellis penalised for a foul on Dobbs.
On a similar vein, how about - edusei whoaoo, edeusei whoaoo, he comes from Senegal , he thinks we play netball. (I know he's not from Senegal but bakino faso just doesn't work)
Wasn't deemed to be performing to a high enough standard and was a lot of hassle logistically and I presume financially to get him to matches I gather which bearing in mind his recent performances obviously wasn't deemed worth carrying on with. Nothing to do with Branco arriving and if Bah had looked better than it turned out he prob would have stayed.
Heard he was good in that one but didn't really stand out in any the matches I've seen him play, touch and determination seemed surprisingly poor considering the clubs he's trialled at. Maybe he didn't particularly fancy it here either and wasn't risking injury?
