Tips from our midweek trip to Guernsey, which we had to organise with limited notice.
The Guernsey rep was more expensive than booking direct, although you get the postponement protection, not sure if this applies to cup priorities or only bad weather
A few of us were BA/Tesco/Avios points collectors, only 9,000 miles and thirty pounds taxes for the flight over. Even High season we found B & B for forty pounds. Still adding up the drinks bill!

Ferry is a fortune when compared to flying, I think it works out around £350 for a car and 5 passengers excluding fuel and you have the added 4 or 5 hours car journey to Weymouth to throw in. Flights from around the £100 or just over depending on when you fly and when you return. I do however know that Guernsey work out deals for away travelling fans and given that the fixture may change due to FA Trophy fixtures they are flexible with rearranged dates so may payto book through them.
I hope that the game now being midweek doesn't have any implications on the strength of the squad we play as this will mean having two days off work for them.
I see the date is now on the fixture list - Wednesday 27th November. You can get flybe flights from gatwick for £85 return, and there is a flight which is (just) early enough to get you back for work the next day.
Two questions - is it an early kick off ? Does anyone know where the team are likely to stay?
I've heard that with the official company they use that its between £105-£160 no actual conformation of price yet but players flight is around 4pm outbound. Not sure where the team hotel is though as yet.
