I think that with a new manager new players are part and parcel of it, obviously football is a game of opinions and I am sure not all players will be what the new manager wants. I do however feel we need to strengthen slightly to build on the start we've made.
John Maggs was just taking notes, today's game from what I could make out was run by Mark and Terry. Good 3 points as per didn't see much of the first half, I thought that until we scored looked like we would struggle to draw let alone win it but as Terry said to me after the game goals change games and we're scoring a the right time at the moment. I believe we need another striker don't get me wrong Kenny and Jamie are doing well but we need a 25-30 goals a season striker to put some of these chances away. As I've said before I will take a scrappy 3 points all season long if we get promoted.

After witnessing 4 of these games, am convinced that like last year 2/3 sides will pull away from the rest, hopefully we will be one of these teams. Quality is appalling players including ours can't pass, kick or head a ball correctly consistently and hold their position. If we can add 3/4 quality players we ought to win the league by 10 points.

After 0-1 down at half-time it seems a good response in the second half.
So a good debut for manager Maggs !
Talk about a game of two halves! My goodness! I enjoyed the second half! Coincidently, if anyone has any pictures that they've taken from today's game and will give me permission to use in my article on the Hastings Online Times, can you please email them to me on; Liam.willis27@yahoo.co.uk. The pictures will be credited to you. Many thanks!
Take three points when not playing so well any day. I thought that when we kept the ball on the ground and played football we looked good. we allow other teams to get into games when we've been on top and in my opinion we need strengthening in a couple of areas to get the best out of this squad.
I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that it actually doesn't matter how we play....we'll still end up winning !!
Like Saturday we really should have been dead and buried long before the last remarkable 20 minutes.....but let's give praise where it's due...we battled through 70 minutes without producing too much but managed to remain in the game. And then when it mattered, we turned on the power to overrun them.
Clearly our fitness IS a factor in this and Danny's work rate was outstanding today.....and once again the substitutions (curiously almost the reverse of Saturdays) seemed to shift the balance back to us.
I have to say I still have grave concerns over the true quality of quite a number of this squad and I think John will know he needs to strengthen in a good few areas.
If he DOES achieve this, then you really do have to fancy our chances because this is not a strong league.
As an aside, how do people compare this team with the one that won the 2007 play offs?
First 10 minutes all over Ramsgate then for 60 minutes looked lethargic and let Ramsgate play although they never look like scoring most of there attack cming down right. Stupid penalty to give away and looked likly to finish 1-0. Cool finish from Darby for equaliser, cheeky chip from Ellis led to second and nice finish from Pogue. but honestly cant believe we won 3-1.
is this league going to be so easy. we have not played well yet for more than 20 minutes in a game and have won 5 and draw 1. if we can get 3 or 4 more players in that have a bit of quality then promotion is possible.
how does this side compare to the promotion one in 2007? that was far superior probably would have won 5 or 6 nil i think
