Exciting start to life in the south. Chipstead away, Walton at home, Redhill at home. I look forward to 3 wins out of 3 and nine points to start.

Away to Ramsgate Boxing Day and home to Hythe New Year's Day. Apart from Guernsey I reckon we've got the worst journey Boxing Day.

Can't understand Boxing Day fixture, wonder if computer said no to Eastbourne Town, as I know they requested that game.

It's a real crap journey at the best of times let alone Boxing Day.

It was the 'uniqueness' and rarity Powells that makes it similar to the Boro journey, not the importance obviously

To be fair guys we only took about 20 to Whitehawk last Boxing Day so not sure what difference it makes. The hardcore will still be there.

We may not be going to Guernsey on October 19th. It,s the 1st Qualifying Round of the F A Trophy.

Not saying I agree with it windy but I suppose the point is not to attract the real fans who as you say would be there anyway but the ones who may give it a go but are distracted by the bloody Champions League etc on tues / weds.

Whether it will make any real difference either way I have no idea, can only try I suppose if it has worked for other clubs.

Hopefully if it is obvious it isn't working it can be changed back later in the season.

Anyone who knows me will vouch that I always try to keep more than half a glass full but I’m not exactly brimming with excitement at the prospect of some of these away trips. yawnyawn

As for Guernsey – just one question – why would you??confuse

Because it is ( hopefully ) a one off experience, bit like going to Boro! how often do we get to fly to games? :)

Pat doesn't like flying. I hear he's buying a 4 man dinghy and planning on rowing there, fist come first served with the spare seats but must be willing to share with the rowing duties!

Ah thought that must be the only reason someone would be against it! :)

Not sure how anyone can compare going to Guernsey the same as Middlesbrough.

No long journeys in this division but Ramsgate one of the longest, typical Ryman fixture list.

appreciate its a one off experience Dan, but another expensive one! - I cant be the only supporter that cant justify the expense? Not really sure which ones I am actually looking forward to. I like Tooting and Folkestone and my friends team is Sittingbourne, so that one too - just underwhelmed I guess. It will be alright come first day when I get my sat nav going I expect!

Am I the only one who thinks playing 'midweek ' on a Monday is good ? It's a crap idea ....try dropping the admission fees if you want bigger crowds. A lot of you know me and you know I pay the full whack, always will (well at least for the next 13 years ) and never moan but honestly, Do you really think changing to a Monday will bring in the crowds ? No chance !!!! The real fans still turn out on Champions league nights anyway .Tuesday night is the only good midweek night .Rant over !!!!

Its all about not treating the Guernsey game as just a match Pat but building a weekend around it like a European away match but imagine its been a long time time since Leeds were in one of those so can forgive you for not remembering what their like! :)

I don't think it will be allowed to change Dan, you have to inform the league of what your preferred midweek day is prior to the start of the season.

I was wondering what Simon thought - two days is not a lot of time for a pitch to recover, especially if its wet. (i'm no expert!)

He he ! i know mate but stuff like that makes me go nuts.....stop messing with tradition !!! It's like when the FA decided that the FA cup final wasn't going to be the last game of the season ...thank god they've seen sense and are going back to the old style season finally ! Just my opinion anyway , for its worth

Having 3 teams this season Dave the pitch is once again going to be under immense pressure this wathief the youth side are away then the pitch should in theory get 4 clear days rest before the next game, ok it wot always be like that but it will certainly give the pitch more rest than it got in the later part of last season.

Surely there's a televised Barclays League match most Monday's so people still won't come out.

There is one answer to increase attendance, a winning team.

The club now has BT Vision if people want the luxury of watching both.

I agree Windy, who ever heard of Monday being "mid-week" next we`ll be playing our "weekend" matches on Thursdays so it

doesn`t clash with all the Saturday games, what a load of twaddle.
