Pleased that the club has announced a friendly between Sidley and our U21 side at the Pilot Field with Sidley keeping all gate receipts.

Hope a lot of people turn up for this one, I like Sidley fc and always a shame to see clubs struggle in situations not of their own making.

Yeah it's really good of the club to offer that to Sidley and we should do a bit to get behind the fixture.

It's a nice gesture by the club but can't help thinking more people would turn up if it was a first team squad we put out rather than the u21's (with all due respect to them). I know it may not be logistically possible to do that with other friendlies & season fast approaching by then but it's just a thought.

Very nice to see that Sidley United will play in the ESFL division One.

They wouldn't be allowed unless they're affiliated to the county Fa. I'm not sure of how they're progressing towards fielding a team next season any idea?

Well if they're playing competitive football next season, then my guess is they'll be affiliated!
Think they've 2 ex-players acting as player managers and who knows who else will sign for them. Seeing as they're being put into Div 1, I'm guessing either Sidley or the ESFL are fairly confident they'll get a strong side together.

I wasn't aware of them joining a league which is why I asked the question. Great to see let's hope they get back up the league ASAP, wonder how many of their old side will be playing for Eastbourne Town in county 1?

Sidley United FC are officially returning to football action ahead of the new season.

The Blues have been accepted into Division One of the ADA East Sussex Football League for the 2014/15 season.

The news means that the Blues can go ahead with planning for the new season, with home games to be played at Hooe's Mill Lane pitch. Whilst not County League football, the placing of the club in Division One means we can look forward to some good footballing sides facing the Blues in the new season.

The new management team of Adam Day and Owen Ball, both former double winners with Sidley, will no doubt hope to build a team capable of challenging for success in the coming season, with the mere return of a Sidley United FC a great sight to behold.

We hope as many supporters as possible will continue to follow the Blues and help with the rebuild of the town's most successful footballing club.

Just curious ..anyone know if there are still pitches in Buxton Drive in Sidley ? Have not been over there for years ...use to play East Sussex League football there back in the 80's for Old Cents ...just wondered if so ,why Sidley couldn't play there ? Good to hear that they are up and running though

Buxton drive was being played on last season Windy although with the new bypass going close to there I'm not sure if it is or will be used any longer.
