Just a hint of irony seeing William Parker's assistant head, Ade, being interviewed on the Observer website - a player who helped United up into the Ryman Premier and has just repeated the feat with Maidstone United as they replace the relegated U's. "If things could change" he says in reference to playing for Hastings United again. What could he have meant?

Check it out for yourself.

It's no surprise we struggled in the Ryman Premier when we lost so many of our good players- Ade being a prime example.Thought our managers did a great job keeping us there for so long-especially John Lambert. Hope we can build a promotion team again and then improve it to stay at a higher level.

i guess fact that he labelled Hastings supporters racists after that Tonbridge game a few years back mean it is unlikely he would be welcomed back with open arms and the interview smacks of hipcrosy saying how sad it is that we are relegated when he put on his twitter the opposite. Reckon he is past his best and guess maidstone think so to.

Fair enough Dan, I'm quite clearly making it up! no

I'd actually completely forgotten about that article, still he comments on one mindless t**t making a racist comment, hardly an attack on the club?

Yep clearly Maidstone didn't fancy him in the Ryman Prem for whatever reason, would imagine we will come up against him ( and Tim ) at some point this season in the Ryman South, heard rumours about them joining Hythe but don't know if that's correct.

Am I being completely ignorant or something, what's with all this Ade negativity. First I've heard of him branding fans racist?

Quite agree he's probably past his best, age catching up etc... But he soon forced his way into the Maidstone starting 11 and helped them win the playoffs, I think you'll find it's Tim who Maidstone didn't want anymore, they were quite keen on keeping Ade as far as I'm aware?

Don't get this negativity towards him, seeing as it was his goals and performances that got us promoted from Ryman South and subsequently kept us from plummeting straight back down.

It's no secret him and large number of local players can't stand Walters, so maybe you should read whatever he says as a dig at Walters and not at the club/fans?

Leon the racism came upon his first game against Hastings United when he signed for Tonbridge Angels. He celebrates scoring a goal on that day and shouted remarks into the main stand.

Those remarks were quite hipocritical too. My lad used to play under him at Parker and he would always say don't get involved in arguments etc and he shouts out obscenities like that in from of his students that were watching. Double standards me thinks.

He taught me as well and as I'm still at the sixth form there, he's always had that same attitude. He's a totally different person at school and on the pitch. Very professional at school, he is.

I totally agree Liam that's why I said double standards. Acts with the upmost professionalism at school but for me blotted his copy book when he played at the Pilot Field last, ok he could of been wound up but to post something like he did on twitter does make you wonder.

Lets be practical. We need two quality strikers & Ade would fulfil one of those, so forget what's been said in the past, & attempt to sign him ASAP.

IMO Den Ade is not welcome at the club we need honest loyal players and he fails in both know qualitys plus he's too injury prone if he breaks a toe nail he has 4 weeks off so he can go elsewhere!!!!!

In the interview, Ade expressed how he'd love to play for us again but "If things changed" - IE, with Dave Walters. He's always give HUFC praise and with whatever the disagreement with DW was, he was also complaining about the racism he was getting. Racism isn't welcome anywhere and if it is used at the PF then the people are removed from the ground. However, even if DW goes, this won't stop any racism from the 'fans'. One man can't control what will come out of other people's mouths. He's a very god striker and really did help p in the clinical parts of the season and really helped us with the promotion into the Ryman Prem a few years ago, and he's done the same with Maidstone. But, if he's been dropped by Maidstone as some rumours suggest, does that mean he's past his best? He has been playing a long time...?

If we had a striker of Ade's energy and committment last season we wouldn't have been relegated. Hope we can find a striker of similar quality for next season. Is there any possibility of Bradley playing for us next season? Losing our best 2 players for most of the second half of the season was a real blow from which we didn't recover.
Talking of strikers, hope Bognor's ex-goal scorer Jason Prior is recovering from his broken leg.
