If we have to beat Kingstonian last match to stay up I beleive we will do it. Can we get anything from the others, i'm not so sure. East Thurrock are the form team and are 10 unbeaten. Bury have drawn there last 4 home games albeit against the top 3, Whitehawk, Lowestoft and Wealdstone twice. So perhaps our best chance is at Canvey who have lost their last 3 home games against Concord, Lowestoft and the Plod. 4 points for me, 5 maximum which probably wont be enough looking at the other teams run ins.
I (for what its worth since I thought at half time on Thursday it would finish 1-1) would go with the same forecast as BigO; which I suspect will not be enough. 5 points, maybe safe; 6 points should be OK - but if we have to wait until the last two games to get anything then it's a real nailbiter!
I am going for 2 wins and 2 losses, with the wins coming away to Bury (assuming a full compliment of players being available) and in the final Home game against Kingstonian. A tough ask, given recent results, but the performances have not been poor throughout the games of late. There have just been unfortunate lapses of concentration and discipline which have affected the results. We are still creating chances. Luck may have to be on our side, but we can avoid that being necessary by just converting a 1/3rd of the chances created.
Lucky-it's a brave man who predicts a Hastings win against Bury! The lack of a natural goal scorer has been a weakness all season. We could need 7 points now-possible but only with a bit of luck.
I have based my forecast on the belief that Bury will not get a win against play-off chasing Margate tomorrow and will then have little to play for on Tuesday. That scenario could create a favourable position for us.
Chris, I think 'no evidence' to suggest we will get another point is a little pessimistic. Yes, we can self destruct magnificently; but there are positives too. The result at Lewes and the result and the performance against Harrow are evidence in support of at least some hope.
4 points from those 3 away games for me. Reckon will grind out a win like we did at cray and lewes. If it goes to the final game then anything can happen. Believe!
