are we always going to struggle? What are our expectations/goals for next season? Be interested to hear thoughts, no having a go at individuals etc, just thoughts and expectations!
Hard to really say at the moment, if we can keep most of the players and gain more experience players then think mid table? Keep sean mark and hugo and possibly extra coaching training for them in pre-season, not saying they need it badly but practice does make perfect at the end of the day , i'll be more than happy with mid place finish and a little cup run to go with it .
The question is of obvious importance; but I feel it is not one which can usefully be answered until we know the outcome of this year's struggle - particularly given the potential fallout from last night's events at Hendon.
What I`m worried about Roy is what happened in 2009/10, what went wrong? but seriously we are not the only team that has that sort of problem, Margate, Carlshalton are usually in a simular postion, I just think it is where we belong at the moment, can you imagine if we won promotion at present ? could we really stay there ? it hurts to be relagated, even if you have just been promoted. Over the course of time there has been changes of players and manager, so its difficult to put a finger on anything, like you I`m sure we`ve all seen United play some cracking football( even some this season) but we`ve also seen the other side as well, consistency is important of course, but do we need more ? One thing for me that is in our favour, is I think we`ve got some of the noisiest and loyal followers. I think like you that we will survive by the skin of our teeth (again), and we can start the whole thing again next season. But thats the fun of it ,is`nt it???
I also think we should wait and see if we survive this season before we hold a post mortem. Let's get behind the lads and see us to safety then we can analyse the season.
This post was parked awaiting to see what league we would be playing in next season. It would be interesting to see people's thoughts on where the club is going etc. Personally having been told I was absurd in suggesting a change of manager in January its obvious that a management change was needed!! Get a new manager and staff in NOW so they look at player recruitment and plan pre season. I would like Razor to stay as a player but ultimately that would be down to the new manager. Mr Walters really does need to act quickly in either of a vote of confidence (which would be absurd!) or relieve Razor is his duties. The old saying is the table never lies, we are bottom, we are relegated and the current staff (and some players) should not be rewarded for failure. Anyone who suggests that being relegated isn't a bad thing is not ambitious, has no drive and does not understand football. No one wants relegation of their CV and the club need to react quickly to ensure we have a more positive season next year. One thing someone mentioned earlier was the support. We will have biggest (and best) support in Ryman South.
