I don't tend to post much on here these days but do continue to read it. Today has been crazy, its been hard to keep up, with some interesting stuff being posted. I didn't agree with much of what Jez 1066 posted but totally support his right to express his views however many games per season he gets to. There seems to be some doubt as to whether it was a wind-up but it looked pretty genuine to me. Perhaps those with access to the ISP's suspect differently? Some of the arguments used against him were well founded others less so. Personally, i found some of the "25p to watch Dortmund" and "Gary Wilson would have sorted out the pigeons" stuff the funniest I've seen on the forum in ages and thought his reaction to it was severely lacking in humour but there you go.
Sometimes posters on here who have valid criticisms do get shouted down. I don't like to single people out, but Rimsay, it isnt a valid argument to tell someone to buy Dave Walters out if they don't like the way things are, not many people are in the position to do that and I'm pretty sure that its a matter of record that Dave Walters doesnt want to sell, it was last time somebody tried anyway so whatever your opinion on that subject its not an option. (you can come back on that Dave if you like, but you won't get any more lifts back from training )
I am convinced that we won't get relegated this year, if it was a normal 4 down season I'd be less confident. Sacking Gary Wilson was the biggest mistake in United/Town history but would I want to see him replace Sean? only if Sean left, I would like to see Sean given time to build things, I accept he's had more than a lot of people get in football but that doesnt mean its wrong. This isnt the worst group of players we've had here by a long way nor is it the strongest league we've seen so apart from in cups, we have badly underperformed and that needs to change, for the rest of this season and next season.
I've noticed that some people on here seem almost obsessed with getting those more closely connected to the club to criticise it. Would you criticise people on a forum that you knew personally, saw regularly and chatted to? or would you keep that private or at least make your comments more general and show some professional loyalty? hopefully the latter. Just because I'm pessimistic by nature doesnt mean theres no room in the world for optimists.
Lastly, when I read about the outrage of Jamie Crellin's comments on Twitter I assumed that he'd been issuing death threats to supporters but when I read it, couldn't understand what the fuss was about. It seemed to me that it was born out of a shared frustration with most of us at how the season was going. Even if a player was out of order on social media it wouldn't bother me if they perform on the pitch. Ive seen countless players play for us since 1980 some more memorable than others. Players are temporary, supporters are (or should be) permanent.

Sensible, well thought out, informed? I thought my mum had joined the forum for a minute Si. Still its all relative isnt it? You should post on here more often, I always enjoy reading your stuff, can't usually be arsed to myself and it would be a better use of your time than posting woeful predictions on predict 6 and making John look good!!
Yeah, nice one Matt.... and thanks for the support you've given me on the forum over the past few years.....not. Speech like that you have to be the next captain of the supporters team, Dave Walters spokesman, Sean's assistant, groundsman and pigeon **** shoveler, oh, and you can now clean the training bibs on a Thursday night. xx
Thanks guys, John, if I ever thought you needed my support on here, you'd get it. Be content that you usually have my backing while I'm lurking. Besides, I've heard that Lee Carey's dad is a bit "handy"
As for the captain thing, I'm more than happy with my role as a senior pro. Your leadership of the mighty supporter's team has been inspirational to all, both on and off the pitch despite you pushing 50 !
I notice that catcher in the rye has been taking a lot of interest in our forum and reporting back to the rye forum, he seems to be very keen to keep the thread going when others have quite clearly said they dont give a toss. He's now saying that we'll be stabbing Tupps in the back for taking the reserves job, funny considering the reserves and other development sides get very little posted about them on here so I can't see that happening. I personally feel Tupps will do a good job so good luck to him.
I've been reading the posts over the last few days with a mixture of emotions. Some are very funny and others are just weird. Thanks General for posting your thoughts, I was thinking the same but couldn't be arsed to reply to some of it so kept quiet. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and the rest are entitled to criticise them. If you are that delicate that you can't take a bit of a ribbing it's probably best to keep off the forum.
Lets all get behind the team and push on to the end of the season. I am sure we will stay up and I am convinced that Sean will be the right man to lead the club to a successful future, as long as we give him time to produce a team.
