Tom Dyson, HUFC radio commentator, also has the responsibility of updating FWP details as they happen.    I was co commentating with him on Wednesday night . He explained that FWP have changed their app and the way that match day details are added. It's really time consuming now and extremely clunky as the information now feeds through from another app. .    He has to navigate off of commentary to add details to various pages on the new style app, making it very confusing. It's very time consuming .  It's not just Hastings United , it's every professional or semi professional club in the country that's experiencing these problems.  On top of that , every player is now showing players middle names ( I bet they're chuffed with that). FWP are claiming to be working on the problems but we'll see.   So , i just want to clarify it's nothing Tom could have done about the final score appearing as 3-0. . In the meantime I suggest fans should either attend matches , listen to Tom's excellent  commentary or watch out for the club scores being updated via FB or X as well.       Hope that explains it a bit.    If anyone wants to help Tom with any of the commentaries you can contact him via his FB Hastings United Radio site .  He certainly needs help.   Don't forget he's a volunteer.  He travels miles to do the games.  Even the home games as he lives near Shoreham. Support him or lose him !! .  Thanks to Adam Smith who was trying to help out with the updates.

To echo Windy’s comments above, the changes introduced this season certainly appear to have made updating FWP a lot more awkward than was ever previously the case.

Back in my PA Box days, it was very simple to switch between posting Twitter commentary and FWP, but trying to provide verbal matchday commentary, while updating FAS (the system that now feeds FWP) is a completely different challenge, and Tom is a brave man for even attempting it.

FWP implemented some software fixes yesterday, and players’ full names should no longer appear once users of each respective club have pressed a few buttons. And as FAS is not used for the FA Cup qualifying rounds, FWP can be updated the old-fashioned way this afternoon, which will make life a bit easier.

However, the bottom line here is that the Club will only ever benefit from having more volunteers available to assist on matchdays, and updating FAS/FWP would probably be a pretty simple task to accomplish for anyone with a phone, if that was the only task that they had to worry about.

There must be somebody within our crowds of 800+ who would be willing and able to give it a try?
