First of all congratulations to our supporter Frankie on winning the 50/50 with ticket 20932 …nice prize £197.00………..As for the game ,where do you start……..not great from Dicko with mock applause for the referee after he had been booked .Having said that thought the referee was poor. How did he not sent their player off for bringing down John when clean through and should we not have had a second penalty. Their No.3 also fell over more times than I have had hot dinners. Interest to see comments from other supporters.

I can’t remember the last time we conceded a goal that the other team earnt or hit a worldie to score! If we are going to play from the back, use players that can play there and that can head the ball forward.
Agree ref was terrible but we can’t seem to break teams down in a deep lying shape.
Luckily results went our way and we stay in the play offs.
Big game Tuesday as it is a game we are expected to win in the cup. Personally I would make some changes and bring the boys in that haven’t had a chance. Might wake everyone up a little bit.

Positives from the day were the fantastic attendance and we fought hard all game, especially when down to 10 men. Sam Gale was excellent and good to see young Finlay Chapman winning a penalty.

Conditions were tricky today and as a result clear cut chances were pretty hard to come by for both sides.
I think the turning point was the ref failing to give us a clear cut penalty in the first half and Jack then losing his cool in frustration and getting a red. I cannnot defend Jack’s action but I do understand it.
The two yellows given when John was through on goal was another huge moment. A goal then or the deserved red card may have been decisive as we were in the ascendancy at that point.
So a very frustrating afternoon. We weren’t particularly good and they really weren't any better and their third goal flattered them hugely.
I think you could see how desperate Lewes were for a win given some of their tactics….but I did feel sorry for their left back who seemed to fall over when ever anyone got near him….a terrible affliction. 😊

Mick, I think he might have had an inner ear infection which can upset your balance. Actually, think quite a few of the Lewes team had the same affliction. At least their no 4, who came on as sub, suffered from a different problem, hopping around erratically on one leg claiming some infringement.

yeah, lewes sussed this ref early and manipulated him well to be fair to them all game

Frustrating day all round as the radio kept packing up every 5 minutes and poor old tom was pulling his hair out with it!! IT CLEARLY wasnt going to be our day....

I felt the lads gave everything yesterday in a scrappy game on a borderline playable pitch, it felt like every promising attack the ref would stop it with his whistle...particularly in that first half

Big moments like the the clear and obvious first half penalty and then the non sending off against john ufah missed...i dont think this ref is on any of our christmas lists

But on to ashford in the cup!! 2 cups still in and still in the pf spots

Good effort by the club to get the match. A midweek crowd would probably have been under a thousand.

I really don’t understand how the referee doesn’t give the penalty in the first half. He’s no more than 15 yards away looking straight at it. If that is given and we score, it’s a different game. Some of the free kicks he gave to Lewes were just baffling- fall over and get a free kick worked well for them. We weren’t at our best that’s for sure but to get so many apparently poor decisions against you makes it harder. Can’t defend the sending off but neither can you condone the assistant referee having what looked like an argument with supporters during the first half. I hope there was an assessor at the game so the referee and assistants can at least learn from their alleged mistakes and find out how to work as a team.

Wonder if Tom chose to go or was told to go. His long passing was an asset but then so was Sam Cruttwell's!

Excellent interview with Chris on the Lewes game. Glad he highlighted the impact Finn Chapman had on the game-another product of the Academy and a very promising one.

Am I right in saying Sam Cruttwell left the club after being left on the sidelines by Chris Agutter because Chris was intent on playing a ‘build from the back‘ approach white Sam was keen to play the 50 yard ‘killer pass’ ?
I may have got this wrong.

Well Sam hit a number of long balls last night. A bit like having a Non-league Bobby Moore playing alongside Sam Gale. But Sam G is a bit more cultured than Jack Charlton.
