Thankfully we stepped up a gear in the last few minutes to give a final scoreline that reflected our overall dominance. I thought we were excellent for the first 25 minutes and could easily have been four up before Margate got anywhere near our goal. I think we then got a bit complacent and when our second came it was rather unexpected. The second half saw us create far fewer chances and the biggest risk to our goal came from us rather ‘over playing’ at the back. But with John on fire again down the left we always looked like we might score again….and I must mention DR7 who just keeps being in the right place at the right time. So two good home wins and hopefully more points to come against the bottom club on Saturday. Bigger things to come in the following weeks….but it’s turning out to be an enjoyable season.
As I've said elsewhere, Terry was Margate's star performer! Like the way we work hard as a team, all our front players working hard when we lose possession. Jack and Adam never stop and we can't say anymore that we lack pace in the side! Hope our missing Sam's are available for selection soon, both are tenacious tacklers!
