3 well-deserved points from a visit to second placed Chatham side was a great result. Thought it was very much a team effort with everyone contributing. Noticeable was the work rate of the side which helped to stop Chatham from ever developing a concerted period of pressure. Davide sets a good example up front with the rest of the team following his hard-working efforts. Pleased Alex Brefo wasn't in the opposition defence as he would improve most non-league sides. Tommy looks like he will be a good addition to the squad but sorry to hear Tom Chalmers has had a bit of a set-back in his recovery. Wish him all the best in his road back to full fitness. Thought the ground and all-weather pitch were good and Chatham appear to be a team on an upward path. Wonder if they have a supportive local council as they are still in the process of improving the facilities at their ground, aiming to build separate changing facilities for their ladies and youth teams behind one of the goals. One of the advantages of a 3G pitch was the opportunity to watch the Chatham ladies team playing before the match. Really enjoyed the confrontation between one of the opposition mum's and the linesman, who she claimed, was coaching his team while running the line. An entertaining "debate" then continued between the mum and Chatham supporters of their team, which, I have to say, was of a far superior quality to the exchange of insults and abuse on display after the match between Chatham and Hastings supporters. Hope we can put in a good performance against Bognor in front of our home crowd.
