Guess we are all hoping for an entertaining win and a few goals this afternoon.

While the FA Trophy doesn't always have the appeal of a league game or the FA Cup there should be a decent turnout given recent performances and this unseasonal warm weather.

Anyway, I am looking forward to it....I realise I haven't seen us win since late August !

Congratulations to our regular supporter Harry winning the 50/50 with ticket 2230. Amount £132.00. As for the game Mick got his wish.We have gone from a team that could not score but could defend to the complete opposite. We deserved to win but Burgess Hill never gave up. As for Alex Brefo’s goal one of the best seen at the Pilot Field for a long time. Let’s see what the next round brings.

Won without playing at the level of Tuesday night. But some excellent goals and watching the two best centre halves in the league is always worthwhile. What a goal from Alex!

My honest opinion is that we were nowhere near as good today as we were on Tuesday. Credit to BH who played well and closed us down very effectively resulting in us hoofing far more aimless long balls that we did the other night.
The difference between the sides was the quality of their defence. Despite never really getting out of second gear we somehow managed to create probably four more clear cut chances....so we actually could have had five, six, seven, eight today without ever playing particularly well.
Conceding goals from dead balls is a bit of a concern. How many have we let in from corners and free kicks ? Too many !
Anyway, very decent entertainment with some excellent goals and, while it never became a thriller, the mood regularly changed between "Thank goodness, we're safe" and "Oh God, No we're not !"
So who do we fancy next ?
Eastbourne ? Dover ? Tonbridge ? Lewes ?

One further observation.... I think their keeper was a player on loan from Brighton last year when they beat us (2-1, I think) and he played an absolute blinder.
Pleased to say he appeared far more fallible today.

As Mick said I thought that we were caught playing around with the ball too much then hoofing it long in defence and Burgess Hill closed us down well. On another note, I wondered where Finn O Mara was. Hopefully he is not departing the club. Will hope for a home tie to Lewes.

Did we not win 4-2? comfortable victory against a side who havent lost in the league since 27/8

only reason they got anything was from us getting over confident, maybe i was watching a different game i suppose but nothing about that game was aimless..we were never repeating tuesday game as we were playing a completely different sort of team and i think we nullified and beat them well..with a ridicluosly good goal from brefo in to the bargain. This was a strong potential banana skin that the lads dealt with excellently! small mention to the burgess hill contigent who supported there team well despite the result and were good value after the game...chatted to a few of them after which is always nice no matter which way it goes #FootballFamily

Fair enough, Chris. We all see games differently and I'm not moaning, just giving an opinion that we were nowhere near as dominant as I expected against a team at a lower level, particularly after such an impressive first half perfornance on Tuesday.
I felt we played more like the away team, sitting back without possession and then looking dangerous on the break....and, I maintain, there were rather too many hopeful balls upfield thanks to the pressure applied by BH. I certainly agree we did more than enough to win but the match, if not the final score, was rather closer than I expected.
It will be interesting to see what Gary has to say about it.
