5.00pm would give a little bit of extra time for my still non existent season ticket to turn up too Mick! I completely agree with your comments in the other thread, (although I also had issues with getting my Harrogate cup ticket back in the day) I'm not traumatised either but like to go through life feeling as little like Victor Meldrew as possible
I would guess if they haven't been posted out yet they won't be at all and people will simply have to collect them at the gate at the first game.
Think I will be getting there early.
First of all congratulations to Lucy who won £169.50 on the 50/50 with ticket number 0484. As for the game didn’t see all of first half but thought fairly even, although Aveley liked falling over. Second half a bit more feisty ,don’t think we will be able to roll over teams in this league. Was Louis responsible for winning goal? On to Folkestone.
Yes Phil, I think Louis must take the blame for that one. From my position it looked like he just left it to go out of play when he could and should have claimed it. We all know Louis is a great shot stopper, however he is certainly going to be tested more by crosses and put under more pressure in this league.
A very disappointing outcome as I thought we deserved a draw and had a few half chances to win it. That said, scoring goals clearly won't be quite as easy this time around.
Thought the defence did pretty well generally and the Gillingham lad (Akehurst, I think) looked good to me. Fair enough to give MotM to Tom but I thought Sam Hasler was also a powerful presence today.
Far too early to make a judgement on the new players or our prospects for the season....but I think there will be plenty of close attritional battles like this one to come.
Aveley might be typical of sides in this league. Strong, powerful, looking to break quickly out of defence and a real threat from set pieces. Yes, Louis should have picked the ball up for their winning goal but he had just made an excellent save when their sub looked certain to score. Thought Tom was the best player on the pitch and the new on loan full back was very good. Need our 3 new signings to make more of an impact than they did today. If only Lloyd's hard work out on the side of the pitch would allow him to get through him through the rigors of a full match.
See Aveley won again last night 1-0 at home to Billericay.Once again they had a player dismissed in added time. All in front of a decent Monday night crowd
