Well the hype around this game is as great as anything I can remember at the club.  Certainly much more than in 2007 when we got promoted via the play-offs and on a par with the FA Cup excitement with those games against Harrogate and Middlesbrough in 2012/13.

Much speculation around the crowd size.  I have heard 3000 or more being mentioned but that would really surprise me, I will guess around about 2000. That said, I know of a number of people attending for the first time this season.

As for the match itself, I think we can guarantee it will be full on. Haywards Heath are a very decent side and are the only team who could do the double over us. They still have everything to play for and I can't think of anyone who could give us a tougher challenge.

How they handle a rampant United attack and certainly the largest, most noisy and most intimidating crowd many of them have ever played in front of remains to be seen.  Hopefully it will be too much for them.

One final comment, I'm pleased we have had some rain this week. The pitches have been getting rather lively and a slightly softer surface should make for a fascinating contest.

Totally agree Mick should be quite a game.As you say they could do the double over us ,and the away game is the only one this season where we have not scored. We are getting there early as the club has doubled the number of programmes it has ordered. Could be quite a souvenir.

Must win game for them so I expect quite an open game, hopefully 3000 crowd and a party afterwards, don’t fancy it being delayed a week as I doubt faversham could cope with 500 roudy away fans

Haywards Heath and Corinthian away-not our best performances! But you've got to have some mishaps during the season. Remember Jack Bates starting in central midfield at Haywards Heath and he had a tough time. Is it correct he is at Derby at the moment? If so hope it goes well for him.

Really hoping that we can wrap it up tomorrow, as I can't be at the Faversham game next weekend. Best of luck to everyone involved and here's hoping for a decent contest in front of a suitably huge attendance!

Should be perfect conditions for the match: Bright sun, hardly any wind and a bit of 'give' in the ground.
At my age I don't often feel genuine excitement prior to a game of football.
For some reason today is different !

All that Mick, and a big crowd, hopefully, it would so good if it happens today rather than away. Although the important thing is, it happens.

Finally on my way to a home game this season. Been to plenty of away games but there’s no way I’m missing this one. If we win the title today then the season ticket purchase was worth it!

A few scenarios will see us win the title:
1) We win.
2) Ashford drop points and we draw or win. This is if Cray win.
3) Cray and Ashford both drop points, doesn’t matter what we do.

I know it’s unlikely but as of now, Cray could still beat us on goal difference so I’ve factored that in.

Hopefully a big crowd will see us as champions! No less than we deserve after being robbed over the last couple of seasons.

First congratulations to Lisa and Alan Payne on winning the 50/50 with ticket 00193. The prize was £287 which I think was a record. Also thanks to everybody who bought a Matchday programme again record sales. Magnificent attendance of 3082 and as so often in the past the game did not up to the occasion. Haywards Heath a useful side who set out to frustrate us and succeeded to the point that it got niggly at times. Perhaps also we let the occasion get to us and our usual football was absent today. Hopefully finish the job at Faversham nest week.

I give a lot of credit to HH, they set up to stop us playing and did just that. We had 3 good chances they had 1, not our greatest performance but still we didn’t lose and 1 point next week will do. Hope Faversham have something lined up to cope with our away support

Thought HH had most of the possession in the first half without really threatening while we had 3 good chances. Second half saw Hastings dominate the play and create a few half chances. Unfortunately Sam Hasler had an off day with his corners and free kicks which rather let HH off the hook. A breakaway attack and lucky rebound created a good chance for their no 7 but Louis made a crucial save.
Disappointing for the players not to be at their best in front of a big crowd.

In the end I feel this game turned out less about a football match and more about the occasion. The celebration for winning the league and promotion are inevitable. We knew that even before a ball was kicked today. However the script was that this game would be the occasion to ignite the town's celebrations and it was a huge shame that this did not play out in front of a quite ridiculous attendance.

And so we need to finish the job at Faversham next week which I am sure we will.

The match itself was curious. Haywards Heath pretty well dominated first half position but, I would say, we created the best four chances (Danny x 2, Sam, Finn) while Louis had virtually nothing to deal with.
The second half was far more even and again we created the best of the scoring chances and did at least give the crowd something more to cheer. All in all though, a bit of an anticlimax after all the hype...but let's not forget that Haywards Heath are a very good side in this league and could well join us next season.
I think Marcus deserved MotM for a very solid display at left back.
Now I need to check the route for Faversham.

Just need to say.... I must apologise to Dave Ormerod for doubting his prediction of a 3k crowd earlier in the week.

Interesting looking at the gates yesterday, Cray PM, trying for runners up spot, playing Ramsgate, also looking for a good placing, gate, 144. Ashford, albeit away, gate 159. How do these clubs survive ?
Oh and Ramsgate have just lost their manager, who resigned.
