Sadly I have a prior engagement and cannot make the Chippenham Town game. The best I can hope for (though I would rather we won on the day), is a draw and replay back at the Pilot Field.
My son Jack will be going and he reminded me, that he was match day mascot when we played them here at the Pilot Field, on 12-4 2003. On that occasion we won 2-1 in front of a crowd of 433.
He is going to regret reminding me of this, let's embarrass him, here is the cover and team sheet of the match day prog and a couple of pics of Jack on that day.
Should we draw and get a replay, maybe Jack would like to be mascot again...
Never been happier to get a prediction wrong. Magnificent result, well done to all involved. Is it too early to be dreaming of the third round again yet?
Couldn’t be there today but seldom have I been so happy with an online result! That’s a seriously good scalp - 2 divs above and also Chippenham are riding high… I’m so proud of the club. Also, that’s at least £6875 extra in the bank. (Although I’ve had a few so…)
Has to be Aggies finest hour,so far, a neutral would not be able to say which team were two divisions higher. Splendid from start to finish although Ben Pope a bit of a twit. Southend at home in next round please.
Looked like we lost Lloyd Dawes and Dave Martin in the warm up, but Kenny Pogue and Sam Adams were excellent. Thought we controlled the first half but we didn't get the goals we deserved. Chippenham started the second half determined to get in the game and, in what was a key moment, Louis made a superb save to stop Chippenham going into the lead. Hastings regained control and Kenny's winner was a superb strike. Ryan's return was a welcome bonus to set against Ben's red card. Very impressive team performance.
No chance of travelling yesterday but a fantastic result for the club and well deserved by the sounds of it.
It was at this point in 2012 that we got a home draw against the lowest ranked club left in the competition.....trouble is I think that might be us right now ! Anyone know different ?
Really hope we get a home draw now in the next round which I feel we have earned......should be a huge crowd for that and a fantastic day, whatever the outcome.
Exciting times to be a Hastings supporter !
Despite it being a lengthy coach journey, what helped to make it a good trip (beside the result) was the excellent coach driver and cheerful presence of director Pat McCrossan. And the offer by the owners of the club to pay for drinks and food for the supporters at our last.motorway stop was much appreciated as was the subsidized coach fee. A great day out- so much better than the Premier League experience.

Had to follow the game on line from work. First class, well done everyone. I was well pleased when KP came back to the Pilot Field. Always rated him. He'll presumably get a well deserved chance in the starting line up while Ben is out.
The video captures the red card incident pretty well and I don't see how that warranted a straight red. Yellow, yea but not a red. Presume we lose Ben for 3 games.
I'll be waiting for the draw on Monday as much as anyone, but the arrears of league games is a concern. 9 points off the top already. Yea, yea, games in hand but 8th place is not where we want to be.
Understand your point about getting behind in the league programme but on the other hand cup success generates strong supporter interest as well as prize money. Healthy gates and prize money should ensure that the squad is added to as necessary to cope with any fixture build up
The cup success of both men and women’s teams has given us to cup draws to anticipate
