Jerard has always impressed when playing against us for Ashford and Hythe. Thought the best 2 right backs in our league were on display at the Homelands- so the signing is surprising as Jake has been so good for us this season.
So, Jake has been struggling with an injury so this might just prove to be a great signing, giving the club chance to look after Jake, before he burns out.
At the Haywards Heath game last Saturday there was a rumour that we were trying to sign a defender from Welling United,Someone who couldn't get into their first team.
We then sign a defender from Ashford and then Ashford sign a defender from Welling to replace him(Dquame Copeland).
Strange Coincidence!
Let's hope the best of Jerald is yet to come as it wasn't a sparkling debut today at Sevenoaks. Strong on the ball first half but too many misplaced passes and crosses. Rather went AWOL second half like everyone else. It will be interesting to see how, and if, we can accommodate both Jake and Jerald. Still early days, of course, so let's see what happens next.
