On Friday 26th July Manager Chris Agutter offered his resignation to the Board due to some footballing issues. The Board has since discussed at length with Chris these issues and these have all been resolved.
The Board did not accept his resignation and Chris has now formally withdrawn this and is happy to continue to manage team affairs.
There has been plenty of speculation since Friday from various other clubs and media channels. The Club would not respond whilst talks were ongoing and will not be responding to any outside speculation or making any further statement in this respect.
The matter has now been brought to a conclusion so that Chris can continue with pre season preparations and that we can be ready to go for Promotion from the off.
It would be helpful to know what the footballing issues were-we are the supporters. However, perhaps the information will be on the Dorking Wanderers or Eastbourne Town websites.
I have only been following UTD on a regular basis home and away for a season.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I appreciate that the supporters who have supported the club for a number of years, through the good times and bad, have more of a right than myself to express their views.
Last season in my opinion was a fantastic season, quality football, plenty of goals. ( obviously disappointing result in the playoffs). The manager and coaches had the team playing the right way, keeping the ball, not playing the long ball, ( although direct football could of been used on occasions.)
Aggy is a major asset to the club and we are delighted that he is staying. No one knows what will happen in future seasons or even this season but the club need ALL of its supporters to get behind the team . (especially in tough times). Negativity is not going to improve matters on and off the field.
