Kingstonian sign 2 loan deals from Crystal Palace !!

Defender Tyler Brown signed for the Eagles on professional forms at the beginning of last season, having been released by Barnet. He also had a successful loan spell under Leigh Dynan at Whyteleafe.

Centre forward James Daly has been an Eagle since he was thirteen, joining the U14s, and working his way through the U18s, where he was captain, and the U23s, for whom his goals helped the Eagles to their league title. He was an unused substitute in a Premier League game in April against AFC Bournemouth.

Both Tyler and James played for Crystal Palace in the recent 0-0 pre-season draw with the K's at King George's Field.

Kingstonian manager Leigh Dynan is very pleased to have the services of these youngsters: "I am really happy to have both Tyler and James with us until the end of the season, and I'm very grateful to Crystal Palace for their help in getting these loan deals done, I'm looking forward to seeing these lads in K's shirts."

Chris,
Wonder whether the terms of the loan will permit Kingstonian to play them in FA Cup games?

Chris,
On your earlier comment about Kingstonian being homeless - that is indeed so. And a sorry tale it is. I was a Kingstonian season ticket holder for many years before coming to Hastings a decade or more ago. I have always supported my local team and obviously now see myself as 'Hastings'. But I still have a deep affection for Kingstonian.
When I first watched Kingstonian around 1980 they held the freehold of a ground in central Kingston which at current value would be worth multi millions of pounds.
All of that is gone. They are now in penury.
Quite how that happened is open to different interpretations, but at the least the saga provides a salutory lesson (as I have commented before on this forum) to to those who urge 'ambition' 'spend to prosper' etc etc etc. It can all go very wrong if the wrong choices - however well intentioned - are made.
I hope Kingstonian survive. But particularly I hope that those who have the custodianship of our club keep constantly in mind that wrong decisions can lead to catatstrophic situations. All football clubs are precious parts of our identity. Of course they need to be run on a commercial basis. But they should be much more than just a business opportunity. It has all gone quiet for us on the 'new ground'. There is opportunity there but serious jeopardy too. Kingstonian's problems started with their transition to a new ground. Let's hope we don't follow their path ..........!

Geoff ... fantastic post ..

My comment on Kingstonian with no home was of sadness and despair on the state of modern football rather than a micky take on that club . Those who know me will know I am very nostalgic about the old football days and my dislike of modern Lego football stadiums . I know the modern game has changed for somethings better like family stands , Youth devolpment and community football and i don’t miss the violence , racism etc ... but money and human greed has killed the working mans game

Too many clubs have chased the dream of new grounds like Rishden/Diamonds , Darlington , Coventry etc ... look what happened to them . Also looking at Dulwich and Kingstonian when the top of the pyramid pay obscene payments to fancy dan players is beyond words !!

I hope we never leave the Pilot Field , I know the stand is knackered and all that. ... but I for one love Hastings and it’s iconic ground

Think carefully before you wish for change , what we have is special

I know when I first started coming to The Pilot Field last season I thought how run down the place was and little looks to get done to repair and improve the ground. Some of the walkways are dangerous with potholes and trip hazards but the place does have a certain charm and compared to the new style modern stadiums I think I prefer The Pilot Field. As Chris says so many Clubs come unstuck with developers and talk of shiny new grounds and I think I remember in a programme early last season that planning permission was being put in at that time but nothing appears to have happened, maybe that is good news. Football clubs are just that, a place where football is played but too often these days they are just seen as a cash cow by greedy developers that are only interested in the land value and that applies to local council and school sports fields too. Hope that is not the case at Hastings.
