Just think the squad looks a little unbalanced at present.
Goalkeepers - Horlock, Rogers - that is fine
Defenders - Beale, Pritchard, Christie, Fielding - That does not look fine and very little experience. Possibly Climpson to add, which certainly wont add to the experience. Crutts can play there but we know he hates playing there and Vickers can also a fill in. Saw him put in a MOM performance in the centre last year at Ramsgate but also saw him get ripped apart playing at left back at home to Lewes. Believe Alex Smith has also played as an attacking wingback at previous clubs
Midfielders - Adams, Cruttwell, Dixon, Smith, Ajakaiye, Ogboe, Janneh, Pool, Dullaway, Vickers, Lovatt, Walker-Bath, Golding - I make that 13 midfielders and a lot of those attacking wide men!! Of course some of these I am sure can play the off the striker role but we do look very congested with midfielders.
Striker - Rodari.......That is it unless we include the influential Adams as a striker.
So as we said about 7 signings ago, we still need a central defender and an experienced one at that, unless it has been decided that Crutts will play there next season, and we most certainly need another striker to add to the one and only one we have. Still think the squad needs some work but early days and shaping up nicely.
Tend to agree ... but I guess you could say what constitutes ’ Experienced ‘ ? How long do you have to play at this level before you are classed as ‘experienced ‘ ? Most of that squad have at least one season under their belt , if not more . Also , how often have ‘Experienced ‘ players been brought in , in the past yet havent stepped up ? Just saying !! Although i do think an older head , almost a dad like figure ( cough ! Cough ! Kingy’esque ! ) wouldnt be a bad idea .
where is the height up front we need someone to hold the ball up and can head it on. with nobody to do this we have to play the ball out from the back all the time and as we saw last year good teams no how to handle this

Chris working really well. It will seem strange starting a season with the same manager and pretty much the same squad as the previous season! Doesn't often happen at Hastings. Hoping Chris can add a young and physical striker- like Ade from previous seasons - so that we can worry teams like Sittingbourne who must fancy their chances of overpowering Hastings.
I totally agree with Tim that an old style physically strong striker like a young Ade would be an enormous asset as would - as many of us have said - an experienced centre half like Mr King.
I suspect neither will happen and that might be the difference between being potential champions and being there or there abouts in a play off position.
