Today’s match has been postponed for health and safety reasons.
A number of volunteers, club officials and groundsman Simon Rudkins worked hard this morning to get the game on and with the Pilot Field pitch playable and the terracing cleared of snow the Club were expecting the game to take place.
However, the visitors South Park were having conversations with Secretary Tony Cosens in which they raised travel difficulties as an issue. In view of this the League were brought into discussions and after liaising with South Park over their travel difficulties the match was called of for health and safety reasons.
The Club would like to thank all the people that attended the ground this morning to clear snow from the terraces and Simon for his hard work in getter the pitch playable.
Our local and London based players will now play a friendly against Eastbourne United at Eastbourne Sports Park 1pm kick off.
Surprise, surprise! a pitch inspection at South Park today. They are asking fans to help get the game on.Maybe their opponents won't travel? Sound familiar?
