Not sure this game will go ahead given the weather conditions. Think Ice Hockey would be more appropriate.

see from website game might be cancelled. does that mean it is not played or is it just postponed and played later? I will be surprised if it's on, my grass is rock hard and been like that since last weekend. Not sure how the snow has melted on the pitch and made it wet because dont think the temperature has got above freezing all week. That pig is going to be busy.

I see from the main site that a club cannot call off a game until after a referees match day inspection. How come Lewes and Faversham have already done so.?

Today’s match has been postponed for health and safety reasons.

A number of volunteers, club officials and groundsman Simon Rudkins worked hard this morning to get the game on and with the Pilot Field pitch playable and the terracing cleared of snow the Club were expecting the game to take place.

However, the visitors South Park were having conversations with Secretary Tony Cosens in which they raised travel difficulties as an issue. In view of this the League were brought into discussions and after liaising with South Park over their travel difficulties the match was called of for health and safety reasons.

The Club would like to thank all the people that attended the ground this morning to clear snow from the terraces and Simon for his hard work in getting the pitch playable.

Our local and London based players will now play a friendly against Eastbourne United at Eastbourne Sports Park 1pm kick off.

Why can’t the game be played tomorrow, surely it can’t be that hard to arrange?

Think it is a lame excuse from South Park.If there were travel issues then they should have called the game off yesterday.Once again they are so many games behind everyone else.Think their involvement at this level should be called into question.
Really good effort from all that attended the Pilot Field today to get the game playable without any doubt.Shame the same effort couldn't be made by South Park😬

I see Harlow and Billericay have no issue travelling down to Folkestone and Worthing... 🤔

Yes I agree, also in the Bostik Premier Folkestone against Harlow is on and Worthing against Billericay is on with both away teams having to travel further than South Park!

I have family in Banstead and they say that all roads including side roads are clear in their neck of the woods and that isn't far from South Park. Such a shame especially when the weather is so much warmer today. Have to agree it feels like a lame excuse and as others say Essex to Kent and Sussex much longer journeys.

What's the betting SP have some injuries and would not have been at full strength? Or am I being cynical?

There's obviously some reason they weren't prepared to play today.Think they must have had it in their minds last night that the game wouldn't go ahead.Probably had too many beers last night

What a Mickey Mouse club South Park are, should be fined, give HUFC £10 per head on average gate . And we should be awarded points. Hope club take this further.

South Park are a disgrace ..they can’t get their home games on normally and now bottled this game

They should be removed from the division . Modern football needs to grow some balls ... overpaid premiership darlings and over active health and safety . Yes I don’t want the violence and racism of the 80’s but boy I am nostalgic for the days we got the orange ball out , played in fog and couldn’t see the opposite goal and players were real men

Well done all that helped today , I worked in south east London , left at 4am travelled in and worked in side streets and snow laden roads ... there is no problem with travel up the A21 ...in fact it is quieter

Hope the league throw this shower of a club out ... I suspect they are in no state to face a good Hastings side

Up the U’s

Following the postponement of the South Park game Hastings played at the Eastbourne Sports Centre against Eastbourne United. We won 8-0. Goals from Davide Rodari 4 ( 1 pen ), Jack Dixon, Tom Climpson, Ollie Rowe and Alex Plummer. All local players , none of the out of town boys. We also had a trialist a lad called Jason who I understand is from Belgium. Was hoping his name was Eden or Kevin but you can’t have everything.

Bostik HQ won't be taking any action against South Park because they were part of the pre match (that didn't happen) hoo ha which saw South Park come out with this stuff about apparent travelling difficulties. Absolutely appalling given the effort to get the pitch playable etc etc. All the weirder given the backlog of games they have too.
