Charlie joins Dayshonne by agreeing to stay on next season. Good to see these guys committing nice and early rather than going through the usual tedious rigmarole of pre season talks and "will he wont he". Certainly two of our best players this season, with Charlie arguably player of the season...just never makes mistakes.

Hope to see/hear similar news soon on Ollie Rowe, Crutts and Sam Adams in particular, whilst Jack, Davide, Callum and Sam Beale should also be players we must look to keep for next season.

Horlock Sticks In The Sticks’

The Club can confirm that current stopper Charlie Horlock has committed to the up and coming 2018-19 season.

Horlock explained, ‘First of all, I'd like to thank everyone at the Club for making it such an easy decision to sign on for the 18-19 campaign. From the old boys behind the goal welcoming me onto the pitch on a match day to the Chairman, Dave Nessling-all have been excellent. There's a lot of committed people working very hard behind the scenes and I can honestly only see the Club going forward. I wanted to commit early for next season to the Club to show my confidence in which direction it's going and hope to be a foundation for next year. I'd like to think that fans enjoy watching us play every week and can see what we are doing as a team. I've noticed since Chris has taken over as manager, the numbers have gone up and so has the volume which is massive for the Club going forward. We hope to build on this for next year and give you all something to really shout about! Thank you all again and looking forward to pushing OUR Club forward’.

Agutter commented, ‘Charlie has been fantastic for us and has earned us numerous points throughout the current season, I genuinely believe in Charlie we have one of if not the best keeper in the League, one of the areas that we have to improve is the number of clean sheets that we keep, therefore securing Charlie was a must as behind every solid defence is a reliable GK’.

More player announcement will follow......come on the U’s!

We have had some excellent goalkeepers in the dozen or so years I have been watching at Pilot Field. I see Charlie as the best of those and among the very best I have seen in a lifetime of watching non-league football. Well done to him and to the Club.
