I received the following from someone I know well who very much has the interest of United at heart. Makes for interesting reading in particular for those who would like to see us remain at The Pilot Field. It offers another take on the ideas for a new stadium. I personally have no problem with a new ground but must admit to having a big soft spot for the PF. Anyway, this is the gist of what I have been told........
"Following the posts on 4th Jan regarding the concerns of supporters on the major setback on the proposed new ground, supporters should be aware that if the development does not proceed for whatever reason there is a wealthy lifelong supporter who is most keen to buy shares in the club in order to STAY at the Pilot Field.He has sufficient funds to update the Pilot Field facilities including anything necessary regarding the Main Stand.His sole objective isTO KEEP HASTINGS UNITED F.C. AT THE PILOT FIELD. It is hoped that this information will allay supporters fears regarding the future of Hastings United Football Club."
Interesting reading eh? I don't know if this individual has made himself known to those running the club and it is known that other avenues are being explored re a new complex etc etc - but why not let you know. All I can say re this person is I haven't a clue who it is!
Well if that includes knocking the stand down and building a new one with no hope of recouping their money then good luck to them, but anybody that does that has more money than sense, or is so loaded a million quid doesn’t matter.
