Sparsely attended which was to be expected. No Dean White but Chris Agutter was there and I know, heard it all before etc etc, he came across well like he did on his Twitter interview after Miasma at Molesey. I had come close to joining the ranks of the non attendees but am glad I did go now.
Chris was frank about the Medlock and Aziaya departures. Issues with training and personality clashes played a part. While supporters don't give a toss, I suspect, about these things if stuff goes well on the pitch, he had a point and in any case, Medlock's departure was already under way before Chris took over from Adam Hinshelwood. In retrospect I'm more disappointed to see Aziaya go but there you go.
Should have asked why Ollie Rowe hadn't been starting etc etc but we all think of things after the event! Good to hear Johnno will be back soon - may even be on the bench Saturday and we may just squeeze a game out of Sam Cole before year's end.
Directors updated us re the new ground. If all falls into place we could be there for the start of 2019-20. Early early days though. We were assured the club won't leave the Pilot Field till the new place is ready.
But all this is of insignificance as we look to Saturday and the visit of Faversham.
I couldn't go due to work , but wondered how well it went
Good news on ground , but me old nostalgic hope it falls through or my lottery comes up and I can buy the pilot field and re develop the old stand ... tonque in cheek
Think chris has done well so far and the chairman and board handled the past month well ... it could of all been very messy
Bert I honestly haven’t a clue what’s going on, off the field or on, and I personally believe we are stuck where we are until the all the issues surrounding the new ground are sorted. That isn’t meant to be negative but I believe the clubs future will be decided when all planning and development issues are resolved.
Chris ... if all is pinned on a new ground then it's a bit of a shame ... going to be a big step forward and suppose has to happen to move the club forward and secure its future .. I am being sold this and of course it will be the best thing for everything .. won't it ?
So so Rushden and Diamonds , Coventry and Darlington fans
Chris VR and B are right to raise the concerns they do. I have nothing but respect for those past and present who attempt to run a football club - often with little reward and no thanks. But the dangers of developing a new stadium and the attendant financial risks are very clear at all level of football. Let's hope those who are the present stewards of our club keep that firmly in mind.
