As Steve said in another thread, let's hope we have a good performance this afternoon. Results and points are always important, but perhaps this time the nature of the performance is as important. Hopefully Chris - who after all knows the players - will achieve a better a better balance than much of what we have seen recently and start the long task of building an effective squad. Without Billy, and with Kenny presumably still ineligible, it is difficult to see where goals might come from; but doubtless all those who travel will do so in hope.
Not sure how we lost this, although I suppose you could put it down to a fragile defence. When Chris sorts that out we will be OK. Bown looked useful up front. Well done to the 30 supporters who made the trip, supporting through thick and thin.
Massively frustrating as the winless run extends to 5 games. United played a lot of decent football yet conceded 4 poor goals, 3 of them down the left and non existent marking for the 4th a minute after Kenny Pogue tucked away a fine pass from Lee Carey to deservedly level the scores. I hadn't finished tweeting lyrical about the KP goal when U's went behind yet again.
We saw 3 top goals from the boys, Rodari did well to get us back to 1-2, Dean Bown equally well for 2-3, Johnny Akoto was back and played the 2nd half replacing Michael Aziaya, Sam Beale was left back and Crutts never stopped in right midfield.
Tom Climpson partnered Ollie Rowe and I am still shaking my head at the ease with which Molesey got their goals Not a pop at Tom or Ollie by the way - it just seems to be a collective problem at the back regardless of who plays - and we had good blokes out there in defence today. United are simply going through a phase where every shortfall at the back results in a goal conceded. 11 in 3 games that I've seen (Didn't see the Cray game), 9 of them down to poor defending. I do feel for Charlie Horlock who will have a Bank Holiday named after him when he gets his first clean sheet. That's not me criticising him either - he hasn't been at fault for any of the goals and was unlucky with the penalty today which he got a hand to.
Tom Vickers will be back soon and hopefully Johnno too. We have a decent side there that is going through a wretched run defensively but there has been some good football from them too.
Hugely frustrating to get sod all today. 12 points adrift already. One way to look at this crappy sequence of results - other clubs will go through it later in the season by which time, hopefully, United will have ironed out all the creases!
(Josh Pelling not featured for Dorking W yet, I see. What was that all about?)

Lovely Surrey ground , nice people , great stand and chips and curry sauce !!
Tough game for us after a week where we lost a striker , a manager ... after a director resigning and a goal keeper also leaving ...
Arguments about youth and experienced players made today's game worrying however a good result after all that happened
Highlight was returning super striker. Kenny Pogue who worked hard and scored a super goal ... ran up to the away fans growling and fist pumping ... the so old fashioned player I so adore
We are in a bit of a pickle , but the legendary away support made the game to a total crowd of 75 !! , a disability scooter and 3 dogs !!!
Wow!! you are easily pleased Chris. Glad you think a 4-3 defeat against a team that averages attendances of 50 is a good result. Think that just says it all about our expectations these days and the level our club is at. Your report just about sums up the week for me. Let's just remember, we played Molesey.
John ... bit tonque in cheek post report from me ... yes , it was not brilliant but decided to make the best and be positive after a week of madness from the club . To be honest , the club played it right on the day , no show from the chairman or Pat , put out the statement about the players forum
Before the game , kept it all low profile and quiet at Molesey . The result did t go our way but I feared a thrashing which would of finally hammered the nail in the coffin
For all the moaning and chat , the away fans had a good laugh and lots of smiles in an atmosphere that could of Been nasty but was actually enjoyable and a credit to the traveling few .
Am I easily pleased ? .. Like you I will always be vocal and of course I would prefer and Expect top table football with a supportive manager playing his best squad . My opinion is the same and I expressed that on front of officials yesterday politely is that I am sure there is more in this and is the manager who ever he is actually running and picking the team ?
The nonsense of resignation of goal keepers and managers in my mind is pathetic as they knew the situation before taking the job . Google maps is available to all !! .. Those travelling fans yesterday after all what happened made the 2-3 trip but car, train , bus whatever .. they didn't walk away thinking ' oh Bexhill Fc is easier by foot' ... I know some of them take 2-3 trains to get to some games . I personally sent 2 depressing days in an fog bound airport for this club !
As Shankly said ' the only loyalty in football is the fans ' ... Adam in my mind has bottled this job for other reasons which goes deeper that the excuse of travelling ... my opinion , what do I know
What I do know which is actually worth it ... is the feeling I had when Kenny Pogue scored and roared over to the fans fist pumping . He wanted that an knew we did as well.
It was the same feeling when I got as a kid , Kerry Dixon doing it to the South Bank at Elm Park in Reading
Priceless ? ... that makes all this week and hassle and expense of football with it !!! Come on Hastings
By the way Simon, sadly Johnno could be as much as 6 weeks away from returning.
Ouch - did NOT want to hear that John. Having said that the side shouldnt revolve round one man, Johnno is a special one.
United have a weird record against Molesey. Some bizzare results at their place recently - as in 4-5 and now 3-4 while we usually stuff them emphatically at home.
While I stomped off shaking my head yesterday for the bus to Hampton Court station, a train to Surbiton, another one to Clapham Junction, yet another one to East Croydon, one more to Battle and then the short drive home (yes, Chris, it's a trek even in distance friendly Bostik South!) - I did so thinking I saw enough in that frustrating defeat to think Agutter can get things sorted if he can resolve the defence issues.
Good to have Johnny Akoto back and Davide Rodari's confidence is far higher now he's scoring. Three in two games, two of them exceptional efforts. Dean Bown looks quite something too - forget the Herne Bay debut, he was a real handful yesterday, Sam Beale was back and were it not for that fragility in defence - a performance like yesterday's would comfortably win most games.
Pat only wasn’t there as he’s suffering from a slipped disc tbh Chris, Sure he would have been there otherwise. Also he did manage to update the twitter account for fans who were t there as well regardless. Fair play.

Well said Simon and Chris. The Chairman was not there yesterday as I understand his wife ia a little under the weather and quite rightly decided to stay with her. Otherwise no doubt he would have been at Molesey.
As has been said by umpteen posts a lot has gone on in the last few days.Having followed the club for a long time nothing surprises me any more. However if you are a true supporter get behind the club in the coming weeks and months and cheer on the team.
Agreed Phil, we are where we are; and the best we can do for the team is to turn up in numbers for the large number of home games in October and give maximum vocal support.
Dan ... I will be sending the bailiffs down there 😂😂😂. Bless them , it's all good for the club... mind you is there a cheap striker going anywhere ?? ... must be all of 12 quid my winnings😜😜
