Bradley Pritchard for me and I was a big shouter of his skills last year has been superb .. I really like his movement , a super little footballer . Jack Harris looks fitter and nice to actually see him score. Saying all this Kingstonian look very poor
Tom Vickers is like a comfy blanket for me .... we need a big player like him back there ... made my day him hopefully back for the season
So far looks good , they are stocking becks blue in the bar and also had an away top in my size ( super fat )
So a good day and start to a long season
Despite Kingstonian having players away on holiday , was very impressed by our team. Agree with Chris that Bradley Pritchard had an excellent game, but to be fair they all did. Even the umpteen changes in the second half did not affect the way we played. Interesting to see that Adam sat in the Directors Box in the first half looking down on the game.
A long long way to go, but a very encouraging start to the season. Well done.
Have to be honest and although only a preseason friendly I was very impressed with the overall team performance! The starting XI was the predicted 'first team' for many I'm sure with most of the recognised senior names starting but I think we actually got stronger in terms of prrformance as the younger players came on! Rodrigues-Barbosa came on & set two goals up well for Davide Rodari and Ansu Jannew and the trialist that PhilG had picked out from the previous game came on, looked technically excellent and didn't put a pass astray and nearly scored twice, get him onboard asap.
Kingstonian we're pretty poor, but nevertheless it was an impressive performance. Some "robust" tackling from vickers in a very solid display. He was beaten for pace once but other than that looked untroubled. Pells pulled off one worldy early in the game, and Johnson , crutts and Dixon controlled the midfield with neat passing and possession.
I was worried that a mass introduction of youngsters in the second half might let kingstonian back into it. How wrong could I be? They looked completely at home at this level. All played well but I thought sonny and the "trialist" stood out.
Exciting times ahead?
