What an incredible day for Hastings today. Defeats for Carshalton and Lewes and an injury time equaliser for Whytleafe at Hythe. As silly as it sounds we could be guaranteed a play off place this time next week. Win at Cray, South Park and beat Walton at home, whilst Carshalton and Lewes draw next weekend whilst Hythe drop points at Dorking and our goal difference guarantees us the play offs before we go to Lewes......its that easy😁......I think.
Certainly couldn't have wished for better results today, John. However I still reckon it will be all to play for at Lewes and maybe the week after too.
A win tomorrow will of course put us in a strong position.
It's a little ironic that South Parks fixture pile has actually resulted in us having to play three games in six days at a crucial point of the season.
With Johnno possibly out as well does that leave us with one genuine central midfielder in Crutts for those games? Although some even think he is a left back! Its going to need a colossal effort from the lads and a return to form for Bodkin and Collin.
If we make the play offs it's a bonus that sides, not quite promotion contenders, get. While I detest play offs for the gimmicks they are - if we make them I will of course support our boys fervently - but will be philosophical if we don't make it. It is totally wrong that Dorking Wanderers should have to be involved given they have consistently performed all season and deserve to go up with Tooting & M - but I must admit it would be hugely pleasurable to go to their place and rob them like they robbed us at the Pilot Field!
